The oldest New York Yankee to get a base hit is Roger Clemens.
Babe Ruth threw a no hitter without throwing a strike.
Stan Musial had 1815 hits at home & 1815 hits on the road.

Red Barrett threw a complete game using only 58 pitches, the shortest night game ever played, at one hour and fifteen minutes.

From wiki:
On June 23 at Washington, Ruth made a memorable pitching start. When the home plate umpire called the first four pitches as balls, Ruth threw a punch at him, and was ejected from the game and later suspended for ten days. Ernie Shore was called in to relieve Ruth, and was allowed eight warm-up pitches. The runner who had reached base on the walk was caught stealing, and Shore retired all 26 batters he faced to win the game. Shore's feat was listed as a perfect game for many years;[54] in 1991, Major League Baseball's (MLB) Committee on Statistical Accuracy caused it to be listed as a combined no-hitter.

Someone mentioned that ESPN had put that stat up recently. It was a jab at ESPN, I believe.

That number by Henderson will never be broken
agreed. the man was incredible. when he got on first, the defense pretty much conceded him second and hoped like hell he didn't steal third. I seriously doubt there will ever again be anybody with both the physical and mental abilities necessary to steal that many bases. plus, Henderson was a damn good guy. yes, he harasses his GM with "contract" disputes but he was a true professional on and off the field.

Rickey often didn't know the names of his teammates, and would refer to them by their position, as in, "hey, light-hitting shortstop, you're sitting in Rickey's seat".

I bet it will. Its something that causes huge gaps because a guys success rate being a little bit better justifies getting factors of more attempts. If a guy with Trindon Holiday speed could have any success in MLB, he would break it.
