Whats everyone pet peeve? I think I found my newest pet peeve, and that is someone having a spotter when he or she uses the smith machine for bench pressing.

The stupid grunting that isn't necessary.

Of all the annoying shite that happens at a gym, someone getting spotted on a smith machine is the one that gets to you the most? Not the idiots that weigh 275 lbs and chalk up to deadlift only 315 lbs and scream like their assholes are on fire while doing it? Not the guy that "circuit trains" on 5 different selectorized machines at the same time? Not the big fat hairy as shite guy that wears muscle shirts and sweats all over everything but refuses to wipe it down? Not the old men walking around the showers with their balls hanging to the floor and no towel? Not the guy that starts using a bench in front of the dumbbell rack then proceeds to have a 10 min conversation in between every set after that?

lack of awareness is up there. I was doing incline bench yesterday and some clown was stretching by swinging his leg side to side. He moved over while doing it and was pretty close to being popped by the end of the bar.

When people don't take my advice on how to lift properly, or at least say thank you. I gave you free advice and you didn't even have to ask for it.

pretty much everything
I hate going to gyms.
I hate the bros with their water jugs and pimply backs, I hate the vapid bitches that put on makeup and do their hair that stand around or text on machines for 30 minutes, I hate the fat guy that walks for 30 minutes on the treadmill everyday then gets a Big Mac on the way home, I hate the old naked guy in the locker room...
I hate them all.
Yet I still go.

Maybe the guy is getting a few forced reps at the end of his set?
You're gym is awesome if that's your biggest pet peeve.
Lately mine is the group of 3-4 college age guys that all decided one hungover sunday morning that they would start working out on Monday. They don't know what they are doing, take up way to much space with their posse, and generally act like doucebags while they are in there. They won't be there in 6 months so how about they do us all a favor and leave now?

People that talk really really loud whether it's on the cell phone or with one of their douche bag partners.

Not really a pet peeve I guess since it doesn't happen very often, but there is a guy who literally sings out loud the entire time he works out. And I don't mean in a barely perceptible voice. This guy's basically doing karaoke. The other day, a girl who is a regular said "Will you just shut the frick up!" This guy didn't miss a single beat and kept on singing.

that is far down on the list for me. It's definitely below these:
- not re-racking your weights
- not wiping your sweat off the equipment
- talking on a phone while occupying a machine or bench
- needlessly dropping weights
- dousing yourself and everything around you with some shitty spray like Axe

Pretty much hate everything about the gym other than my actual workout.
Guys with water jugs.
Small talks.
Using multiple stations at one time.
Yelling and grunting.
Flexing in mirror.
Guys that are always recommending things to me when I didn't ask.
People that walk in to tan and then leave.
Guys doing crossfit type workouts in the middle of everything.
People singing loud with their ipods in.
There's an old black guy that dances to Michael Jackson on the treadmill at one of the gyms I go to. This may be my most favorite thing. It brightens my day.

Reracking my weights is part of your workout...

People who do deathlifts in the curl rack when I'm trying to use it

Where do I start?
Curling in the squat rack
People who talk to you in the middle of a set
Crossfitters who think they own the gym because of their elite fitness
New Years Resolutioners.
People who coat themselves in cologne before hitting the gym. The CK1 stink can be smelled from 20 feet away
Sweaty bastards who don't wipe down the equipment
People who don't re-rack their weights

I haven't been to a gym in years since I bought equipment to put in my garage. But when I did go
People on the phone/chatting with other folks while tying up equipment. STFU, work out, and move on
People utilizing multiple pieces of equipment
And of course, the guy "curling" 135 lbs. in the squat rack

Hot women who pass gas while doing crunches. Had one do this by me one time, and had no idea something so foul could come out of someone so fine. My throat tightens and my eyes burn just thinking about this awful moment.

Depends on the time of year..
Spring... People trying to get into shape for summer and spring break. Come for only 2 months to take up space and talk about their plans.
Fall... People sitting on a machine, doing nothing, and telling everyone how much they know about football
Winter... New Year's resolution people. Crowd the gym, taking up space and machines for 2 months before you give up.
Other than that.... Curling in the squat rack, Leaving one station to do a set at another, then coming back to the first station to tell you they are using that station too
