Does Miles want to be here?
Saban left after five years and Les is going into his 11th. If you cant see one didn't want to be here and one does, I cant help you.

I could argue that LSU recruits itself. When is the last time LSU didn't recruit well?
I agree with most of what you said, and think LSU can do better than Miles, but the above quote is untrue. No school sells itself. Look at UF, Texas, Bama before Saban, and even LSU before Saban. Theyr ecruited well, but not consistently in the top 10 like they are now.
If you'd said "I think plenty of coaches could take over the program now and be successful" then I'd fully agree.

Anything is possible. LSU basketball might win the championship this year or next.
If you think coaches who can be top three in wins and top two in wins in the SEC over a ten year period are easy to find, you are delusional.
Some of you need to open your eyes to the fact LSU in the last ten years has been more successful than 99% of BCS schools.
You might want to gamble, and it's a fricking big gamble no matter what some clowns posting here think, on LSU finding better than Les, but count me out of your delusion.

The top program in the country
LSU was NOT the top program in the country. The year before Saban won a natty, the Tigers were 8-5. The year after, 9-3 (excluding the bowl loss to Iowa)
Some Tiger fans are so fricked up over Saban leaving, they start believing he did at LSU what he's done at Bama. Not knocking the rebuild he did but stop with the revisionist history.

I just love reading the muses of the delusional fanbase regarding coaching. Even when LSU was wallowing around in losing seasons back in the 90's the fans were of the opinion that Dennis Erickson, Spurrier, Mack Brown, etc were just sitting by the phone waiting for LSU to call... And we got Archer, Hallman, and Dinardeau.

Correct, but I believe as long as we hire a decent recruiter and also someone who can make good assistant hires, we will be at worst the same as we are now.

I legit remember people saying we would replace Hallman with Jimmy Johnson.

You guys hanging on Sabans nuts is incredibly funny. I would bet some of you even still suck your thumbs is a pacifier.

Remember where you were before Miles? Uhh... LSU had the best coach in the country
Saban learned his limitations in Miami, and found the perfect place to rebound: a place with unlimited funding, excellent resources and recruiting potential, desperate enough for wins to put up with his ego-maniacal ways, and he struck gold.
I wonder if our (LSU's) fanbase is any more delusional than, say, Oregon's. One day, USC will get the right guy, and the Pac 12 will belong to the Trojans again. When that happens, will the Ducks fans start demanding they demolish everything they've built?

Any school would put up with Saban. You act like its hard to put up with a stubborn coach when it results in titles

I think Les Miles will end up at Michigan one day. He'll retire from coaching and go there to be AD. He is a smart guy and a good people person. I think he would do well in that capacity once he decides to move on from coaching.

Without interjecting my opinions on the matter, it is good to hear someone's else view outside the LSU bubble but still in the SEC.

How many national championships did LSU have prior to Saban?

You get what you pay for.
Our athletic facilities were subpar, and our coaching pay was terrible. I'm going to go out on a hunch and say that LSU could drum up a little more interest for the head football coaching position in 2015 than we could in 1989.

The coach in the country you speak of , is at best a good coach , but a smart man . Recruiting = $$$$ as in "What you gonna give me to save your butt" LSU needs to up the $$$$ or bennies when recruiting . It is not about the school education , pr the coach .
