If LSU beats Notre Dame in the bowl, it would share a distinction w/ only 2 other NCAA programs (Michigan & Nebraska). LSU would be 1 of the 3 programs who have played ND 10+ times & have any winning record vs the Irish. BTW, UM is 19-15-1 vs ND. Nebraska is 8-7-1.

The Tiger Rant: where sunshine pumpers come to look for silver linings

So now that we aren't that great all of a sudden ND is the end-all be-all of football programs and we are just fortunate to even have a chance to stand across the field from them??

Stop comparing us to other teams. The only team and only stat that matter are LSU and whether we have that 2014 natty. Everything else is hot air and bs so just please stop

Yay! Another reason to keep Les. Let's see: Helped us get all-time series lead with Notre Dame, awesome clock management, great QB developer. That settles it. We should keep Miles.

Thanks for posting that, I was thinking about looking that up.

I remember watching a Michigan/Notre Dame game and they asked that question. At the time Nebraska wasn't on the list. It was just Michigan.

I'm sure the team is already polishing its "we're one of only 3 teams to beat ND more than 10 times and have a winning record" Championship rings. A more useless and who gives a shite stat I've never heard of.

Good Lord some of you guys look for records and stats just to make yourselves feel better about where this program is really at right now.

Who cares. It's Notre Dame. They have been irrelevant for longer than a decade now.

All kidding aside, what a bunch of miserable fricking counts some of you are to feel the need to twist this neat little fact into something terrible.

I used to think Florida fans were the worst. They hadn't won anything before Spurrier got there and then suddenly acted like they invented the damn sport. They acted every bit the new money they were...classless, arrogant, spoiled, etc.

I take that back...my fellow LSU fans are far worse. The program has been on a 15 year trajectory that is greater than any time in our history, we've won two of our three national titles in the past 12 seasons and four SEC titles...and to hear our fans you'd think we sucked year in and year out. It's pathetic.

Truly, our current fan base does not deserve the program that has evolved here.

The LSU Athletic Department put together this summary of the LSU vs Notre Dame rivalry prior to the Sugar Bowl a few years ago. It gives an excellent overview of why this game matters to both schools.

ND has played LSU the most times of any SEC school. ND's next most played rivalry with an SEC team is Alabama and the Irish have a 5-2 record over Bama (and a 4-0 record over Bear Bryant).

As a Notre Dame alum from Louisiana (who supports LSU when they aren't playing the Irish), I can assure you that this rivalry and game means something to true ND fans who understand the history. Plus, this game is important for both teams in setting the stage for success in 2015.

Geaux IRISH!!
