I could see Jimbo and Chief get along. Obviously, Patterson would be a different story.

Why do you automatically think a new guy wouldn't want to keep Chavis on staff. Did Les get rid of Tommy Moffit when Saban left? How bout Jimbo?
Mostly because those guys speak very highly of Miles and thinks hes one of the best in the business regardless of what idiot fans think. These guys have had opportunity to jump ship, hell Frank was just offered a HC gig and didnt leave. If Miles goes, they would leave.
But Miles isnt going anywhere, so no need to worry.

Contracts are with the school not the coach. Before Florida canned Muschamp they cut deals with their two best recruiters so there would be no drop off for the 15 class. No one in their right mind would can FW and if its an offensive head coach why couldn't he keep Chavis?
That means that the AD is making the hires for the new coach. So yeah you want to hire a new HC that wont be allowed or be trusted to make his own decisions? Well then we better fricking pray Miles doesnt go anywhere.

Or that the AD discusses it with potential candidates and the one that takes the position is fine with it.
Chavis didn't stay at LSU for solely Les. He got paid more and wanted to be close to family. Chavis is under contract next year, so his options would be to retire or break the terms of his contracts.
In the end, i think it all would depend on who LSU hires to replace Les in the scenario that he leaves. If it is an offensive guy, I could see them keeping the defensive coaches and Frank Wilson (he just brings too much to the table).
Les lost Porter (his stud recruiter) and Wilson came in and did just great in his place. It's not like these guys aren't replaceable.
On the defensive side, Raymond is an LSU alum, Chavis isn't going to Michigan with Miles should he go, and Haley is likely going to the NFL or sticking around.
Offense is a different story, but again, that would depend on the hire.

SkilletIf Les left, that means no more Chavis tooMost decent D coaches would look good with all the elite talent we have in this state. If we lose Chavis, he can be replaced without it being the end of the world.
Coming from a mich fan you post makes me feel better . I would think if Les does leave , the next head Coach should come from with in LSU after he would know our program and the players

Yeah I'm sure they would take the gas pipe if they couldn't coach with Les, you ever think Chavis might get tired of sitting in the coaches box and saying "great offense"?

Would be hard to replace "THE CHIEF". His defenses have saved Les' arse many times. Also he is a very loyal person and that is hard to find in itself. He makes good money here and is worth every penny. He isnt all about a dollar.

It's ok everyone.
If Les leaves, theres absolutely no way that they bring in someone that will be as successful and continue the winning, regardless of the.coach.
The available coaches out there now are far and away better than Miles. Let him go!

I think Frank would almost certainly.
I don't think Chief would (although possible). I don't think he would follow Miles to Michigan either.

You know Chavis is a great one but if he were to leave I would like to see us go after a recently fired head coach from up north by the name of Pelini he seemed to do pretty well at the job when he was here...

If Chavis wants to stay if Miles left he would be asked to stay.

Muschamp== DC would be a dream come true. That being said, Miles ain't going nowhere, and Will would be hired by then anyway by A&M or Auburn.

Heck, Chief has had other offers but he stays because he likes Miles, as do the others.
well a lot of that has to do with who LSU would hire to replace Les. I really doubt that if Les went to Michigan that they'd all follow him there.
No I don't think Chavis would. He'd retire but then again many SEC teams would go after him. Cameron might follow Les. The others I think would have little problem finding jobs within the SEC.

Wait, what? Why would we be replacing Chavis?
Posted on 12/3/14 at 7:12 pm to barry
Shut up dude you don't know that and stop acting like Chavis is so great we run a basic D... We just have above average talent year after year after year.... I'm so sick of the coaches getting the credit for everything... in my opinion all they do is call the plays this guys will be great no matter who is the coach
