that is the nicest "small school" stadium you will see. Its like the Shoe and Death Valley had a lil hook up and this popped out 9 months later.

Ohio Stadium was modeled after Harvard and Yale's stadia.

1962 Harvard ties Yale 29-29. Newspaper reads "Harvard beats Yale 29-29".

here is an interesting factoid
In the early 1900s when schools were looking for ways to make football a safer sport a proposal by Walter Camp was made to widen the playing field by 40 feet. However, due to Harvard being a major power at the time and b/c their stadium was built with reinforced concrete the idea was nixed b/c of how much it would have cost them to redo it. So instead the forward pass was adopted. So one could reasonably say we have the current football field dimensions b/c of Harvard Stadium.

Fond memory of watching the Patriots play the Bills there in November of 1970, just days before I left for Oakland Army Base and on to Vietnam. Went down with 3 carloads of family and friends as their going-away present to me. Pats got wiped out, but it didn't matter. A great day at a great stadium with great people. Ivy League football is a unique experience. I've been to 20+ games at Dartmouth, 5 or 6 at Harvard and 3 at Brown.
Interesting Sidenote: Harvard Stadium was where Janis Joplin gave her final concert, just 3 months before the Pats-Bills game referenced above. She had already died by the time I went to that game.

Caught a game at the Yale Bowl a few years ago. This picture is great and the YB has a lot of great history, but it needs a lot of interior improvements(seating-deteriorating wood/rails, concessions, bathrooms, etc). I was there about 3 to 4 years ago for a game against Penn. If they made improvements in those area, it could become a good stadium to catch a game. This game is only one where either school gets a crowd like those pictured.

The real news this Saturday is that MIT is 9-0 and in their first D-III playoff game ever.
