That's an awesome photo! What year was that approximately?
I really don't know when it was taken. Found it a few months ago and saved it for a thread like this.
A few things I noticed:
They just barely missed getting the Indian Mounds in the pic
Parking for games sure wasn't a problem back then.
The Power Plant was/is huge.

Right. BC I really enjoy a nostalgic 'high' if you will when I look at historical pictures and maps of familiar places particularly my alma mater and my home town?
Of all the shite I post about and shite I say... this is what makes you respond like so.
Andrew Lytle's pics of Old BR are like porn to me if we wanna keep rolling with the "aroused" metaphor.

Listed as 1924 LSU stadium
Powerplant in the background and maybe the Tower over the back of the east side?
Never knew one side was not completed before playing a game

That is the most depressing pic I have seen in awhile
To me, that was the coolest looking baseball stadium EVER, though.

Always wanted to see a ball game, there.

Was the original track pretty small? Doesn't seem like there would be room to have the field and track in between the original stands??
Posted on 11/17/14 at 4:10 pm to Kingpenm3
Were the original east and west expanded at the same time as the north was horseshoed in?

No, they were expanded beforehand. I have a pic of the expanded East and West stands (with the dorms already in them) before construction of the horseshoe N. Endzone.

We are trying to block that game out. Why bring it up.

Because it's a badass picture?
