im interested to see if this thing will actually land upright. Apparently they are unsure of the surface that it is landing on, and if it falls over the mission is a failure.

They are making a statement right now. The lander is on the surface. Landing gear has been moved inside the comet and they are sitting on the surface and the machine is talking to them.

What's sad is that people don't realize or appreciate how incredible this is. We just landed a spacecraft on a fricking asteroid/comet. That's amazing.

It is hard to imagine that the spacecraft launched 10 years ago and just landed.

They're referring to the computer system inside Philae, the lander.

No, this is just a probe. Unless I missed something, it's not manned at all.

this opinion is shortsighted. I like the idea of countries working in cooperation for these missions. Space exploration is for the betterment of all humanity, not some patriotic garbage.

Yeah, after I posted that I saw the whole picture of it landing...so obviously it isn't an actual picture.
