Odds that Harris gets a true shot (next year)

Coach picks a Qb, and that guy is his guy. Each and every snaps and start re-enforces that guy as Miles guy. It does not matter if that guy shows no true throwing development or not. He is the qb.
Or maybe not?
We have seen how meaningless spring games can be for determining who is the starter. Many times we have seen Miles starting Qb get outshines completely in the spring game, and it meant nothing when time to name a starter, as Miles already had his mind made up.
And then there is the "the coaches see them in practice, and you don't, so that means everything" mantra. Of course, its hard to argue with this one, but that will always be the case.
So, for those of you who claim that Harris actually will ever get the nod, aside from injury, what do you base this on?
Can Harris expect to get a true legit shot?
If so, other than stating your general assertion or preference, what do you base this on?
(btw, I know how bad HArris stunk it at the Auburn game, and I am not claiming that Harris should be getting nods right now in the win streak that led up to the Bama game, nor in the competitive Bama game....I am asking this for next year)

ZERO.
One of two things is true.
1)We actually recruited in the last few years, the worst 4 QBs LSU has had since 1980(if comparing starters)
or
2)Our coaches blow at evaluating/developing QBs.

Unlikely unless by way of a miracle, LSU can get a comfortable lead (which is impossible given this offense's inability to move the football).

I don't believe he will
It'll take an injury

I cannot argue with this.
+1.

Harris if he progresses from the end of the season through the spring game and fall practice should pass AJ and get the starting job! AJ is not and will never be an SEC qb! He won't ever even be just a game manager with the smarts to make the easy throw and not turn the ball over! He cant read coverages and only has a deep ball! BH will start next year, period or we have a serious problem!

And, just for the record. We've SEEN AJ. We now know he blows. This means that either we totally whiffed on the two guys who transferred or, we blew by having them behind AJ. Think about how bad our recruiting has to have been that this year, AJ was considered better than all the alternatives by our coaches.

I am not convinced either are the answer. We need to be on the recruiting trail hard this off season.

Miles didn't want to wash this season for the sake of rebuilding/development so he started Jennings based on seniority. He hoped he would manage the gem and show some signs of life, he has not done either. We can talk about drops or route running or whatever but their are plenty and I mean plenty of plays to see Jennings does not have it.
Harris from what I saw at the Spring Game and during his action this season is far superior. He's limited by Les and his style of play calling and approach.
The Auburn game was such a setup with the play calling and a difficult opponet. But Harris is still the one who got us down the field and got us 7. Jennings came in and failed multiple times in the red zone against the scrubs. I mean what's more telling than that.

I hope that Harris gets a shot. I worry that he'll transfer like the last 4 QBs that left in the past year and change.

i'll go on record and say that there is NO WAY jennings is supplanted as starter unless he is injured.

100%
Bash away, but if he does the things he needs to (which I think he will) then I fully expect him to be the guy next year.

a QB coming into his junior season is supplanted in spring practice by a QB with only one start under his belt?
not a chance... that's why all of this is depressing. with each game jennings starts, it's one more game of experience he has over harris and thus a reason for miles not to start harris.

I totally understanding starting seniority even if the guy isn't as good as the true freshman. What I don't understand is starting seniority that it is plainly obvious the coaches don't trust either.
Any half wit coach could tell you we were gonna lose a few with zero passing game. As such, the fear of Harris costing a game or two with being lost really shouldn't be a big hairy deal. Let the kid develop.
NOW, even if Harris were to manage to win the job next year, he will go in as a guy with a grand total of one start under his belt.

please don't try and make excuses,
BH was horrible against Auburn. He wasn't ready for that big of a stage yet, and he'll tell you the same thing. Please.
