re: should Cam Cameron be held accountable for the state of our pass game

He does and does not. Miles' offensive approach requires a pocket passing QB. Of which Lee and Mett are, which is why they excelled. All Les had to do was call his offense.
Why he trotted a spread option shotgun QB like JJ is beyond me. The bonus is that Harris is a pocket passer, who just happens to be mobile. A plus. Jennings just doesn't have it regardless of what he is.

according to Hannigriff he should be. Charlie called him out on it last night in his opening statement in the post game show.
He said that CC has had over a year to get the passing game in shape and you can turn on the TV every Sat and see kids in the highlight reels with no better experience than LSU personnel and they are chucking it all over the place. One difference is that these other teams are making it simple for them.

your right it almost did. Amazing considering the handicap we put on our team with this offense. As hard as our team played, with heroic effort, against great odds, they deserved to win and not have to take on a great team with great talent with one hand tied behind our teams backs. How great could we be right now with a little bit of fore thought and it the proper building blocks would have been put in place going back to the spring.

I don't think you can say he hasn't improved. He has definitely improved. However, is the pace what we should expect? Not sure, guys develop differently.
Cam is certainly responsible and has a good track record. I do think AJ is the safer play now, but BH should be playing to develop him and his higher ceiling.
BH would have been a huge asset in the game Sat. At worst, he could have been 2011 JJ and run more option. Of course, he will be better than JJ down the line.

He is the captain of the ship and Les Miles is the admiral.

People calling the 2013 offense record breaking are being disingenuous as hell. They were 6th in scoring offense, 6th in passing offense, and 7th in total offense in the SEC. They were good *for LSU* but they were middle of the road for the conference, much less nationally.
Says a lot about how low expectations for offense here are that people point to that like it was the greatest show on turf.

Yes but what can he do when the qb can't read a defense and doesnt posess a really big arm?
Posted on 11/9/14 at 7:52 pm to boxcar willie
Yes , he's paid a lot of money and is now our 4th offensive co.

WE have managed to make what should have been a simple task into a monumental effort. With the o-line we have and the threat of our running game, the passing game could have easily been developed. These other teams aren't blessed to have what we have, yet every week they make it look simple.

And that's what is baffling and frustrating

I wouldve 3 years ago, now i just look at the constant in all this, les's offense. Wouldnt be surprised if cam left after this year.

at this point of the season, probably not much. But Jennings is every bit as talented a QB as what a lot of teams have to work with. If he really is that god awefull f'ed then why didn't they see it earlier and go with Harris and let him take his lumps. Don't tell me they are both untalented lumps of garbage. Sorry, but I don't believe it.

No you're the dumb frick. You don't have to score 40 points to win games, and it only take one point to win.the offense probably had more to do with our chances to come away with the win last night, than our defense did.I guess time of possession and limiting the number of plays Bama ran last night had zero effect on the game. Our offense sustained long drives and consumed a lot of the clock, allowing our defensive players to stay fresh. The defense did play great last night, but in the end when called on to make a stop and win the game, they just couldn't get it done. When the game was on the line the offense responded and put us ahead. There are many different strategies, that can be emplemented to win football games. You don't have score every possesion while holding your opponent scoreless to do so. So yes the blame rests with defense, it doesn't matter how well they performed all night, if they couldn't get it done when it mattered the most. The offense put us in a position to win and the defense didn't secure it. I think your knowledge of football is very limited.

until i have reason to think that Miles doesn't mettle with the offense and pick his qb and won't allow an OC to pick their qb then i have no reason to place any blame on CC.

Landry, Beckham and running back Jeremy Hill combined with senior quarterback Zach Mettenberger to form one of the most prolific combinations of offensive talent in school history. Together they helped LSU become the SEC's first team to boast a 3,000-yard passer, a 1,000-yard rusher and two 1,000-yard receivers.
LSU also led the nation in 3rd efficiency.
Maybe I should have said record setting instead of record breaking.

Hey. It looks like some people are finally starting to get it.
5 QBs
3 OCs
1 good offense in 6 years
1 constant in those 6 years

perfect point. We had great talent to bail us out of a stupidly run offense that never developed to the extent it easily could have. Just think what other OC's could have accomplished with that talent we had on offense last season.

FeartheValley is on target. AJ has hit his top level. That's all there is!
