A friend of mine is too, especially the specialty ones. I am bringing him the nitro and the 2 six point beers needed for that badge on Saturday.

I don't know much about bottle shops in Brentwood, but if you come up Franklin Rd a little about 10 minutes and you can hit up Craft Brewed in Melrose. That's where I do most of my shopping. Let me know if you hit up Craft Brewed. I live a quarter mile away. They also sell beer by the pint and growler there and it's a pretty nice place to have a few beers in the evening.

Whales might be hard to come by, but there are a few things you can get here that you can't in LA. TN liquor laws are asinine, so we get passed over by a lot of breweries and our high production tax limits the number of breweries. Anything over 6.5% ABV has to be sold in a liquor store. A couple stores (Craft Brewed included) built liquor stores next to their beer stores, so you can get low and high gravity in the same place.

I have some Bottomland sours as well as some Yazoo Brett Saison I can pass along to be shared with the Nola krewe.

Local breweries wise, my top three are Black Abbey, TN Brew Works, and Yazoo. Yazoo is everywhere, but they're like Nola and have some really good one-offs at the brewery. Black Abbey and TN Brew are only on draft at the moment. Breweries aren't open much. Usually Wed-Sat, and only in the afternoon/evening. Black Abbey has a very small tap room, but it's dirt cheap. TN Brew Works has a killer patio, but that time of year is not patio weather. Yazoo has a good size taproom.

Yazoo, TN Brew Works, and Jackelope are all in the Gulch and you can walk to all three. Also in the Gulch is Hops and Craft, which is a beer bar with maybe 12-15 rotating taps. Flying Saucer is just across the railroad tracks from the Gulch.

2BD Bell's Venus

This is...not so great. Perhaps warming will help. The girlfriend said it was awful, and I wouldn't say it's particularly awful, but it's different. Not a lot of nose, but what's there is almost brett-like. A tartness to it that isn't bad. Extremely apricot-y. Not so much honey, and no vanilla as of yet. Perhaps once it warms.

Waiting on the beer I just bought to chill.

Just realized the food I bought rang up wrong and I paid more than it should have been :(

Understatement, it's pretty damn good. No Sculpin, Jai Alai, or Westbrook, but damn good.

I like it :)

Was 2 weeks old when Jones bought it last week, so it's still pretty fresh.

I really wanna drink the black IPA that is in the fridge, but I imagine he'd be mad if I did without him here.

Actually, there's a ton of beer in the fridge that I'm probably not allowed to drink without him.

*Sigh*

So as the Venus has warmed up it's stayed largely the same, super apricot flavored. And that's okay, because I love apricot. And sour things. But I wish the vanilla would come through more in the flavor, it's started to show in the nose.

Yes

They were restocking and the shelves looked great.

They had Funky Gold Mosaic, Cherry Funk, Birra, and Prairie Hop.
