Well I'm just checking. I know you're the king of hyperbole.

when you get to the point that you think you can judge someone's quality of life by their opinion on basketball players you may need to take a look at your own life

I think it has more to do with your obsession with the Pelicans. Same would be true if VOR spent hours each day posting on a Rockettes message board

Hey man I enjoy talking hoops there isn't always basektball talk on the MSB so I sometimes like to come here. I don't even respond to half of the threads here that I'd like to.

That is one of the most bullshite posts I've read in awhile.

More like he derails half the threads on here because he can't insert houston rockets into them on the MSB.

We already had AD, Ryno and Lopez at the time. Noel would have become Derrick Williams 2.0 because of lack of opportunity if the Pelicans had drafted him. I think Demps would have traded the pick for someone else, Burke and MCW aren't that great and Noel was the best talent in the draft even though he was a bad fit with the Pels. The question isn't did we make a mistake not drafting Noel, the question is, what other trade options were available to us.

Lets all be honest.
We are all just upset we couldn't but "Nerlens Pelicans" t-shirts.

Not pointed at you ATL, but I don't think people remember that the reason he fell so far was because he was a big coming off major knee surgery in a smaller body frame. He was the clear cut #1 prospect pre-injury. So the injury didn't slow his career down except for the missed season to this point. We still don't know it'll stay that way. The #1 talent in that draft is playing well. Shocking.
Part of me wonders if PHX is over there laughing daily talking about that time they screwed the Pels, because they 100% knew we'd match. GOAT troll.

Big men + big knee injuries = fear of history.

Amare had a hell of a career even after 2 devastating knee injuries. Each guy and each injury is different.
ATL-
No chance for Derrick Williams with Noel for 2 reasons:
1) He has a real NBA position unlike Williams. At the very least, he will be a solid defensive big- 4 Stocks/G so far.
2) The depth chart wouldn't have mattered his first year due to injury. Ryno, Davis, Lopez, Smiht is good enough for a team that is an a long term plan for the rebuld.
Obviously still a hole at pg and sf (c too depending on outlook). But taking Noel wouldn't have been dumb or anything.
They made a choice to accelerate the rebuild. Nothing wrong with that. I do agree with SP on the price being too high- 2 top 10 picks for a guy who will not make an All-Star team in New Orleans is a little absurd.

Noel has been amazing? In what games? What games have you been watching? Everything I have read says he is terrible on the offensive side(only scores at the basket) and only gets rebounds that come to him. Please take that crap somewhere else.

quote:He only had 6 steals because he would poke the ball out when Dwight would put the ball on the floor while posting up.
he also had 6 steals and was as active defensively as I've seen anyone in quite a while. He's also developing a midrange jumper I can see him developing into an ibaka clone.
Dwight is notorious for not taking good care of the ball and turning it over while posting up.
Noel and his double team help kept poking at the ball every time Dwight dribbled.
He's not going to be able to do that with everybody. It was a special case.

Says who? You don't know that, neither does bunchy. It's convenient for you to say this so that your front office doesn't look incompetent but in fact it makes them look just as bad.
Noel was picked for philly.
If you trade, the team you're trading the pick to picks the player.
I don't see how that's hard to understand.
ETA:
Dell a month or so before the draft said he was looking for an upgrade at PG so that gives credence to the "they would've picked a PG" argument. MCW/Burke weren't upgrades so meh.

I really think some of us fail to remember that Jrue is only 24 years of age and an allstar at the age of 22. The kid's game has a ton of growing to do and he isn't even close to his prime. This is completely subjective, but it already looks like he is a better pg prospect than any of the guards that were in that draft.
Every great big man needs a solid guard as a sidekick. Dell swung for the fences with Jrue and I don't mind it at all.

Please post the other starting PGs in the east that year to see who he beat out. He is clearly not one of the leagues top PGs. Id say he's between 10-15th best making him slightly above average for an NBA starting PG.

He gets overrated here because the position is so strong. Yes he's in this tier, but "slightly above average" PG these days is a pretty damn good ball player. It's kind of the opposite of the center position and how saying Dwight...nevermind don't want to get you started.

Well when you gave up what the Pels did and still don't have an advantage at that position about half of the time, clearly you gave up too much.
