I really like Holiday and I didn't mind the trade. But it started a bad trend. Going after one good player, instead of two of more guys that can contribute. Holiday instead of a 1st round pick and a solid FA (Noel and let's say M. Ellis), plus the future pick (TJ Warren or James Young). Then Evans instead of Vasquez and Lopez. We just ended up with something a lot less than it could have been..

Outstanding? He was alright, but I wouldn't say outstanding...

Ellis + gordon in the backcourt is just horrendous to think.

This is purely starting from the beginning. That ext. for Eric Gordon is killing us. He averages 14.5mil/yr. Cap is 63(?) million. He eats 23% of it and he's a black hole with the ball (assist numbers and advanced metrics will back that up as well).

Taking Rivers 10th overall in 2012 instead of Lamb.
2 1st rounders (2013 and 2014) for Holiday
Signing Tyreke
1st rounder (potentially-2015) for Asik

Out of all those moves, I've personally thought the Asik and Tyreke moves were worthwhile. You get an extremely athletic PG/SG for pretty cheap, a solid top 5 defensive center for an unknown 2015 pick.

I could live without Holiday, but imagine if this was our team instead:

PG: Holiday
SG: Evans
SF: Ariza
PF: Davis
C: Asik

Bench:
Ryno
Lamb
Morrow/3pt shooter

Because the money into EG could have became a solid SF + 3pt shooter worth a damn.

I get this line of thinking but solid role players don't win much unless you got Pop or Thibs (so close eff the Bulls) on the bench. Asik is better than Lopez and holiday is better than Vasquez. We should be on Davis/Jrue 2.0 right now but we're stuck at 0.8 because of injuries. With a reasonable 15m worth of player(s) in Gordon's spot, everything changes the way we look at the way the team is built.

Agree the thing that's killing us is the Gordon deal, not the trades.

Retrospect is a bitch.

It is what it is. Doesn't matter what the deal was at the time. We have to deal with now. And now, he's an anchor, bringing this franchise down.

We all just have to hope he plays better. Nothing else we can do.

I was looking for the first time I suggested it but couldn't find it. I just remember Techchampion being all kind of butthurt.

And I really think they did the Tyreke deal to acquire talent, thinking the roster is flexible and they could move Gordon.

Obviously Dell was wrong so far. Again it is what it is.

I was fully in favor of matching EG. My reasoning at the time was, you don't let that kind of young talent go for nothing. Match, and use as an asset later.

Little did we know how drastically he would regress. Sucks to be wrong.

We don't know if the Holiday trade was good or not yet

Anyone saying otherwise is lying, because they don't know

it could be a fricking terrible trade, it could have been a so-so trade, or Noel could be out of the league in a season and Holiday turns into a star. We don't know yet.

The Gordon matching was a TERRRRRRRRRRIBLE move and might have fricked this franchise over for half a decade or longer

But I remember being pro-matching Gordon at the time too

We fricked up, but we had to do it

Wrong.

We are only three games into the season. Holiday was hurt for the entire second half of last season. Give him a chance to get acclimated. Not to mention, he's one of the best defenders in the league from the point.

People are going crazy about Noel, because he had one highlight reel block against Harden. I'd take steady consistent play over one stupid highlight reel on Sportcenter.

he also had 6 steals and was as active defensively as I've seen anyone in quite a while. He's also developing a midrange jumper I can see him developing into an ibaka clone.

Okay. Good for him. He had the first good game of his career. Let's see him do that over the course of a season. We have 79 games left to play. He's still unproven.

Let's let the season play out, before we make knee-jerk reactions.
