YES winning is all that matters. That's why someone like Les Miles or Nick Saban is paid $4+ million. All the stupid "oh but he is such a good person" garbage means nothing unless you are completely delusional.

Paterno - probably the most egotistical coach and phony person of all time within the college coaching ranks. Couldn't stand to step down and not continue to rack up wins on his resume, all the while not knowing the names of his players, not actually coaching them during the week or on game days. Just watched while wearing diapers in between naps. While collecting millions in compensation and spinning the false narrative that he was but a meager man, living in the same house for 50 years. And while presenting himself as something quite larger than simply a football coach; indeed, an educator and leader of young men, he knowingly allowed young boys to be raped on his campus and in his football building... for more than a decade. And when finally caught, what did the intelligent leader and educator say? "But, but, but, I didn't know! I'm just the football coach. I told my boss!" Paterno is a pathetic piece of shite.

But sure, great anecdote to bring up here in this thread. Compared to Paterno, Saban is definitely a scumbag.

I could not disagree with you more. Some people in this world make a lot of money doing human trafficking. So if your boss teaches you the best and most high functioning way to kidnap, transport and pimp people out, then it automatically qualifies him to be a good leader???

No, this culture sells itself short. It isnt just about being good at your job, efficient, productive and hard working.

It is also about ETHICS. What happened to them? Thats what ensure that people do not abuse their power at the detriment of others.

What about ALTRUISM? What about using your power for good. This is not just about making these guys the best football players.

These are college kids, and this team plays for a learning UNIVERSITY. No one is more recognized or representative of a big time football school than the head coach.

Miles teaches his players so much more than just football. He teaches them family life is important, he teaches them how not to throw people under the bus, Miles is extremely loyal, he is passionate, and has defended his players in the media vehemently, as has shown great leadership skills by diving on the sword protecting those around him.

The players consistently talk about how much they love their coach, but moreso understand how great a man he is.

Greatness can never be achieved only on the football field. Great men, are so much more than their accomplishments.

Anyone who truly doesnt see what Im saying, I pity you. It takes having a great male in your own life to recognize one when you see one, and Miles is a great leader, Saban is a great coach.

One will be remembered for their impact on others lives, the other will be remembered by sports fans, and trophies....
