I have been to two of his shows (free tix and at a festival). I feel like he is one of those guys that it isn't cool to like, but dammit, the guy can play every instrument and puts on a helluva show. I kinda feel like it's the same with George Bush Jr. The masses hate him, but if you had him over to dinner, it would be fun and entertaining!

I went reluctantly to a Kid Rock concert. I was expecting a drunk Kid Rock and lots of F Bombs. None of that occurred and I was impressed with his musical talent. There was no opening act and Rev. Run and Dickie Betts preformed solo and with Kid Rock during the 3 hour show. Since there was no intermission the beer sellers were confused and didn't know when to cut off sales. They finally figured out at the end of the concert it was time to quit selling.

Heard an epic story about his partying at Endymion. Gained a lot of street cred as I understand it.
He is also a good friend of Steven Peterman, former LSU National Champion and Detroit Lion. They knocked back some moonshine in another story I heard. Things got crazy. LOL.
