I think that reinforces the notion that baseball is becoming more regional and less national.

NFL became a national sport in large part because it hold two big advantages over baseball
because it uses television appropriately, and created a competitive league while the Yankees won 4 world series in a row. It's all about television, that's where the NFL wins and continues to win.
also, the NFL balanced marketing teams and players. Up until 2006, I thought they could do no wrong.

So that says Chicago and New York doesn't like baseball?
J/K so don't get warped.

the baseball most of us care about in LA is played in Baton Rouge from February to June...

"Unique" Chapmions in the last 10 years.
MLB: 6(7 if royals win)
NBA: 5
NFL:8
Seems about as much "parity" as anyone else.

Have you seen the Mets and Cubs play?

I'm guessing for chicago that's because CSN only has half the games, the other half were on WGN.
I think it'll be telling for the regional sports market when we see what the cubs are able to do selling only half their games for 2015 with the other half not coming available until 2019. Now based on this threads premise where this board is used as the cross section, then the cubs should be boned trying to sell these. Anyone think that will really happen?

you bastard.

The NBA definitely has the least amount of parity among the three major leagues. The talent gap between the true contenders and the worst teams in the NBA is astronomical. There are some truly horrendous NBA teams

I think that's far more true of baseball than the NFL.
(I generally only watch the Saints, but I think I'm an exception in this case...)

i don't know about "most", but the TNF game's ratings dwarfed the WS ratings

CBS and NFL Network’s broadcast of THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL on Thursday, Oct. 23, which featured Denver’s 35-21 victory over San Diego, was the highest-rated and most watched program in primetime for the week of October 20-26, 2014.
The game earned an average national (Live + Same Day) household rating/share of 12.3/21 and was seen by an average of 20.2 million viewers.
