LSU has four good backs...right now TM and LF are getting the most carries. It is simply because they are the home run threats.
Hilliard and Williams may get one or two more yards on any given carry, but the other two will take it to the house on any given run whereas the bruisers might get 20 yards.
The home run may not have happened yet, but the potential is there and we saw TM do it last year a couple of times. Those two are the kick off returners for a reason. Obviously the coaches feel it is LF because he gets about all of them.
Anyway it is absurd to argue about this because LSU has two consistent runners which will get yards when needed if blocking is available and two more risk reward runners that can can be electric or abysmal if blocking is available.

Honestly do any of you watch the games? When TM started to go off you could litterally see all of the oline get major push. I'm talking the left side was driving guys 3-5 yds off the ball

I'll say this, TM last saturday was the best performance by an LSU RB all season. IMO
I still give it to Fournette for what he did on the road against Florida.

Nah Magee is our best back. I've been saying this for a couple years. Don't get me wrong, Fournette and Williams are good too.
Never understood why Magee hasn't got the ball much this season.

Absolutely. It was incredible. I counted at least 4-5 plays where collins walked back to the huddle pushing his guy 20 yds down field.
Magee was still making the most if it though

Magee has looked like his old self the last two games. I personally think it is because he has been coming in as a back up. Not a worn down defense excuse, but some people are just better off the bench.

I think the last two games have been the ideal rotation for this team. Fournette starting with Magee getting a good number of snaps and touches as a primary 3d down back and a few series as the number 1.
They are both far more dynamic players than Hilliard or Williams.

OM DL is very good. The RB that hits the hole quickest should get the most carries.

I've been wondering the same thing.

F has got to be the most over rated back in the country. I hope he does great next year, but this year, put him as the 3rd or 4th in the rotation.

We're calling running down tired defenses and open holes hot hands now?
Were they tired of the second drive of the game when Magee got in and ran for more yards on three straight carries than Fournette had in 5 carries?

Forget it. I've noticed over the years that if there is a ten yard wide hole, and a RB runs through it untouched for a long TD, most fans will credit the back.

He averaged just over 1 ypc against Wisconsin on 8 carries and only averaged 3.6 ypc against ULM on 12 carries (a good amount of carries) - that's why. With our passing attack, or lack thereof, we didn't have carries to waste. Magee has seriously stepped it up the last 2 games.

Put him in first. He has proven himself. BS to the ones that say the defense was worn down

He just looked slow and pedestrian the first few games. Maybe he's just in better shape now 8 weeks in.

I would go with Magee to start off against Ole Miss. He looks quicker and appears to be running harder than he did earlier in the year. Dont forget, O line is getting a much better push now than they were earlier. Dont know why, but they are.

Was Magee just the hot hand
I have been waitin for this one...
LF7 runs on the field and 90% of the time it is a run to LF7 against 9 men in the box. TM18 runs on the field and it is usually third down and a passing situation.
Now lets see what happens when you go against trend and run the ball to TM18....Boom! 140 yds and a couple TDs! who'd a thunk it!
Not taking anyyyyythhiiing away from TM18. He had a great game and deservedly so. But go back and count the helmets in the box with LF7 in the game and with TM18 in the game at RB. They are going to have to throw the ball with LF7 in the game to break up this trend.

I'll say it again. What you saw is a TM18 that has his starting job taken. We have a strong backfield and they will both feed each other for competition. Magee should get the start as a senior leader, but I think you even the carries out between the two to keep them fresh, as one doesn't look head and shoulders above the other, consistently.

Thank YOU !!! I've been screaming this all season. Fournette hits people, not holes. He's Spencer Ware 2. Great for beating people up. Maybe next year for him. TM hits holes that aren't there. GIVE HIM THE DAMN BALL... We don't need cater to LF because of High School Press Clippings...
