I cried in public at a friend's funeral earlier this year. And I sometimes cry, when I see my daughter(s) accomplish something we are proud of. I have to tell you, just this year, I've seen a number of people cry at funerals, graduations, etc. And many of those people definitely "have ther shite together."

I made the mistake of watching Game of Tones (Futurama) with someone else.
I also started crying at my other job when I got the phone call that my dad had what we thought was a heart attack. My dad is much older than most people's fathers in the south, so I'm very much constantly worried.

I cry all the time.
Books, movies.
I cry in the car a lot. I think about people dying all the time. So most of the people in our city have probably seen me driving around town crying in my car.
I was crying in the mcdonalds drive thru line Friday night.
Before that, I cried in front if my husband while watching the walking dead last Sunday.

My husband makes me happy. He is an awesome person.
Sorry to hear that & I apologize for trying to be cute on the internet.
Had this discussion during the Robin Williams suicide when people were critical of him & claimed "I get depressed all the time ,but would not kill myself".
Getting a case of the Blues occasionally(like everyone does including me) is totally different from serious/clinical depression that people like that suffer from.
Hope things work out & your husbands/family's love help you navigate such an awful tragedy. If family doesn't seem to be enough there are other resources available.
I personally knew a Father & 2 sons who committed suicide within 10 years (not 100% sure on the timelines)of one another.
A subject I don't take likely.

Woke up one morning a year and half ago and lost half my vision. Cried like a baby.

It's difficult for me to imagine not crying at my mother's funeral. I'm assuming you just grew up in a family where showing emotion was taboo?
Actually, not at all. I've seen my dad cry a number of times, especially when discussing Vietnam. My mom used to cry at the drop of a pen. My oldest brother is also not ashamed of showing his emotions to others. I think it is just the way I am wired. It was not difficult to not cry at my mom's funeral because I had already dealt with it emotionally in private. I was also in charge of everything at the funeral and after party and had to deliver the eulogy. Each of my brothers were sobbing at the funeral.
My friends joke that I have no emotions, but it is probably a huge wall I have erected to prevent myself from ever revealing something so personal to another human. I have lost both grandparents that were still alive when I was born as well as a great aunt that lived with us for 3 years. I did not cry for any of their deaths. My mom's death is the only one that moved me to cry.
So I asked this question to see if I was abnormal.

I guess that's your opinion. In some cultures, not crying in public for situations like the death of a loved one is seen as strange and bizarre.

I agree 100%. People always say it is a selfish out. I think it is selfish of me to expect her to live when she was so unhappy all of the time.

LSUBoo and I have been dating since 2011, we got married in June.
And thank you. It is awful, but people go through much worse everyday.

When we put down our boston terrier earlier this year after he hurt his neck playing in our backyard. He was only 8 and it was very unexpected. First pet I've ever had...

To answer your question, when my grandfather passed away. Cried after seeing my father crying.
People show emotion and grieve in many ways, judging them for it shows a real lack of empathy.

About a month ago I cried in front of my husband because I felt so sorry for my daughter who was sick with a slight fever and sore throat. I did not let her see me upset but it breaks my heart to see my kids in pain, even if it is just a sore throat.

This is true. I have a really hard time crying over anything important. I try so hard, and nothing happens.
I have friends that cry every single time a tiny argument with their SO comes up. I don't judge them for it though. Or I try not to. They're just the type of people that cry when they're angry because they don't know how else to express their anger. Nothing wrong with that at all.
