Wait if its the professor then why would the pretty boy cop match the name of the comic book character?
Also, what does the professor have against his mom/him?

In another thread it was theorized he is the father or grandfather of Zoom.

Good theory - we'll see. In the short time the cop was on the screen, I didn't like him.

Didn't change a thing from the leaked pilot. Ready for this to get going. And keep the comic info coming. That's what makes these threads bad arse. Half of us don't know shite about comics but enjoy the input readers give.

They don't share the exact same name. Prof. Zoom's first name in the comics is Eobard, the cop's name is Eddie. Like Darknight said, we theorized that Eddie could be Eobard's father or grandfather. Again, it's just a theory at this point. For all we know Eddie could end up being Zoom. There are many times I thought Arrow was going to go one way, and the went another.

In one of the continuities in the comics, Thawne idolized the Flash to the point where he recreated the accident that gave Barry his powers. He ended up trying to go back in time to meet Barry, but landed at some point after Barry's death he found a Flash museum where he learned that he was destined to become Prof. Zoom (or maybe it was Reverse Flash at that point in the comics). He ended up going crazy after seeing that (and I think time travel also was a factor), and that is why he hates Barry.
In the comics it is Zoom who ends up being revealed to have killed Barry's mom. And in this pilot you'll notice in the scene where his mom is getting attacked, there is a red and a yellow "lightning flashes" in the room.

Repeat of this episode tomorrow night after Arrow. They'll replay the Flash episodes like that for a while to build the audience.

I kinda dumped the idea of Eddie being Zoom when he got knocked out. I just don't think its him.
The professor fits the bill for multiple reasons.
In the comics, Zoom still idolized Barry despite the fact that he realized he was going to be evil. If Barry Allen never became The Flash, Zoom wouldn't exist. The professor helping him out isn't for Barry's sake, its for his own.
At least that is what i'm thinking when I bring the comic and this show together.

Of course the writers of the show could be fooling everyone by making like the professor in the wheelchair is Professr Zoom, but maybe it's actually Abrakadabra.
I think this was discussed in the earlier thread also.

Well I frickin knew it! Ending gave it away and I've never read the comics.

He also may not be Eobard Thawne. He may be one of the other Reverse-Flashes.
Eddie Thawne may just be a nice tip of the hat.

The Flash/Arrow rooftop meeting was badass. Especially the mutual "cool" when they left.

I actually liked this pilot a lot more than I thought I would. I almost stopped watching and once I got passed the first little bit I got into it. Im worried that its not going to keep me interested though. Hope im wrong. Arrow is one of my favorite shows. Cant wait for tonight

I loved it. I really enjoy Arrow and liked the tone of the show. Nice throwback to John Wesley Shipp, I watched the old series as well.
That being said, Mrs. Prez watched it with me. First question she asked upon the end: "So, how does this fit in with the movies?"
Not to start a DC/Marvel debate, but I have a feeling many casual fans are going to be asking that same question.
