sorry. I don't know why this is so hard for you all, I know govt schools don't teach logic skills of any kind these days, but really. These Flash writers are just not very good.

Yeah brah I'm with you. A guy running so fast he travels back in time is just ridiculous! Everyone knows time travel is only possible when you are using a flux capacitor with 1.21 gigawatts of power!!!

Did you even watch the whole season. Thawne wasn't the original creator of the particle accelerator. The original Harrison Wells and Tess Morgan (his wife) created the particle accelerator that gave Barry his powers in 2020. Eobard killed them and took Wells' identity in order to make it happen sooner so he can get back to his own timeline in 2015 instead of 2020. That was explained in episode 17.

At the beginning of the season they showed Barry the changes in his cells that allowed him, essentially, to super charge them with speed. Or however they put it. I only have 8 episodes on my DVR. I don't have the early eps or I would go back and watch again.
Edit: What I love most about this finale is the fact it's now Thursday, and this thread is 4 or 5 pages longer then when episode aired. This thread always died by the next morning. It's been hot and heavy in here since then. That is how you know it was a great finale. It has everyone talking. I can hardly wait for next season. It should be a great one. Multiverse, here we come!

Yeah, but what I'm proposing is that the Speed Force is what affects the cells to cause that change, but is not tied to the cells/DNA. So over time the Speed Force stops affecting the cells since they are no longer tied to the person who has the Speed Force, and thus appear as normal.
And likewise, I'm proposing that if the Speed Force is tied to the "spirit" of the person, just because Thawne changed his DNA, that didn't stop the Speed Force from staying with him once he took on Wells' DNA.
Again, that is just me spitballing here.

I thought I remembered them showing there was something actually in his cells. A new addition or change. Can't remember exactly how they put it.

I finally caught up to the end of the show. This series really doesn't do a good job at handling time travel. As complex of a plot device as it can be, there are a lot of plot holes that need answering.
1. Why did Eddie's (I hate this character) suicide not result in the essentially the same thing as Barry saving his mother?
2. I would assume Eddie killing himself causes a paradox which in turn causes the black hole to re-emerge. The difference between this and when Flash traveled back in time mid-season is that the Flash disappeared from the original timeline and created an alternate universe where the tsunami never happens. I would assume this is why the future headline from 2025 read that the Flash had disappeared because he went him time to save himself as an infant, but then again:
3. The first time Barry Allen travels back in time, why is there not more than one Flash as there is when he travels back in time during the finale?

I know, the writing is of the level of "hey we'll reference butterfly effect when we feel like it and ignore it when we don't", because you can always make up some illogical nonsense that the fanboys will believe.
Along with the Barry love Iris dramasode every 2 minutes and the flash is so fast yet every single villian can hit him, and ciscos going to invent yet another water into gold gizmo..
There's a lot about this show that isn't good.

So I'm catching up on the last 7 or so episodes of the season and I guess I have a question regarding iris. So she has every right to be pissed at Joe and eddie but should she really be mad at Barry? I mean she did reject him. Friends or not, I feel like that removes you from the "must tell shite" list. Am I wrong? I don't know, they just did such a unbelievably terrible job with her character this whole season. Like my god
