Pre season, it was "we'll go 8-4, why don't we have a lot of first team all SEC, we're young, we're inexpierenced, I'm worried about DT depth, QB will have growing pains"

ECT ect. Now here we are, getting UPSET by a very talented MOO STATE team, and now the worlds ending, Miles should be fired, Chavis is over rated, Cameron should leave. ECT.

I just don't get it. Why doesn't anyone think rational.

Btw. For you cluesless people who don't watch football.

Part of Cameron's offense is stretching the field vertically and establishing the deep ball. This is why Jennings just chucks it deep a lot. METT had A LOT of "frick it we're going deep" throws. Cameron instilled a very pro heavy playbook that I'm sure isn't easy to learn. jennings is just playing in the basics of it so far. Of course we won't open up the offense when half our offense probably doesn't even know it yet.

Dude. Think.

We were down 24-7 to Wisconsin.

We were down 31-10 to Miss. St. with our TD coming on a fumble return.

It isn't that we lost. It is that we know that we are looking at a bad football team.

...unless something changes.

Here's the deal: Alabama never sinks to 8-4 when we have had recruiting classes within reasonable distance of their level and when we have a favorable recruiting situation in general in Louisiana. LSU has a game coaching deficiency, and that perception doesn't end at our borders.

Furthermore, if criticism of game strategies is the mark of anti-LSUism and forbidden then there really is no point to sites such as this one.

yea, cost us the ole miss game last year.

but, to address your post I think you are correct. CC's offense is not as "conservative" as people are saying. certainly ONE of the big reasons the fans have gone apeshit is fear; fear that we are regressing to the offense we had with JJ at the helm. some of the kids on here have NEVER seen us lose to MSU so it was a shocker. to reinforce this fear thing the only plays many remember are the ones that did not work and those were the runs up the middle, esp the four runs up the middle at the goalline.

I guarantee you that if AJ would have thrown the ball on first down these same fans would have freakin' went nuts if it was incomplete. an interception and Miles and AJ were gonna get tarred and feathered.

I don't know how anybody could take you seriously after something like that.

LSU's offense is usually the simplest you'll see all weekend, high school, college, or pro.

It isn't that hard to explain really. Anytime you have a person or group of people that have no responsibility for actually doing a thing but are in a position to complain about it, you'll get unreasonable commentary.

It's kind of like little league dads who, on the same exact pitch would yell at their kid "why didn't you swing at that" if they watch it or yell "why the hell did you swing at that" if they swing. Or like QT inspectors who have never worked the line but have been put in a position to come up with standards. Or kind of like congress who can make laws that apply to others but not to them. And can hold hearings berating those who are actually doing things.

When you've been in the nitty gritty making things work right you have a whole separate mindset than the armchair crowd.

Very few are saying to fire Miles. That should not bother you. When lots of folks want him fired, then it will be a potential problem.

It's not whether you win or lose. It's how you play the game. And we played the game like a bunch of retarded monkeys were calling the shots.

I agree with everything in your post. LSU can not hope to keep replacing the waves of good football players that leave early every year and expect to keep up the torrid pace set over the last decade by Miles and company. It doesn't matter how good he recruits, which is exceptional, Miles' teams will have growing pains when that many first and second year players are key contributors. There are kids that played in spread offenses in high school that now have to learn an offense that is pro-style with different reads and options off those read. Add in the fact that our offensive line went to a zone blocking scheme and there is a learning curve to expect.

The biggest worry so far this year to me is the defensive line play that was really exposed when it had to go against a good SEC offensive line. This is the area I feel must improve quickly for LSU to finsih the year strong.

I fully expected before the season that LSU would have 3 to 4 losses due to the circumstances we were facing with our youth and inexperience. Nothing I've seen so far this season dissuades me from that. But an 8 or 9 win rebuilding season will not be the end of the world, it will just seem like it to most ranters.

The Rant is for venting your frustrations as well as the entertainment value of watching others meltdown and show the ignorance publicly.

Mr. Football, why have an offense that the team does not know/understand? Does that make sense to you?
