Lowered Toyotas in Central in 1986 were the shite.
Then we all grew up and moved away.
Here in Houston when I see a lowered truck it's invariably driven by a mexican.

To get under low stuff. Duh.
Think of all the parking spots under low hanging limbs that they can access that ole monster truck can't even think about.

It's to let people know they have low rent tastes.

You managed to make a Dodge even uglier

Almost anything done to a vehicle to modify it from stock that is solely for the purposes of aesthetics is ridiculous IMHO. You put too much value into how cool your car makes you look. It seems very high school-ish.
Goes for some additional things as well. With the money people drop into jacked up trucks, they could probably buy dedicated small, light weight, 4wd truck that wouldn't tear up the roads on their deer lease so much that they need 35" tires in the first place. I had a single cab Silverado and could get anywhere on the 1200 acres I hunted without ever putting it in 4wd. No lift, just 33" tires.
People seriously kid themselves into thinking they need things.

I guess the ascension parish punks lower them for the same reason the vermillion parish oil field trash jack theirs up...they think it looks cool. But one day they'll grow up and realize how ridiculous it looks.

Or they won't.

So where does that mindset end? Do you think people who buy expensive watches are ridiculous? Or people who wear nice clothes? God forbid if anyone wants to have a hobby modifying vehicles...or if anyone wants to personalize something they own.
I find it "high school-ish" that something that impacts people in absolutely no way what-so-ever gets some of you people's panties in such a huge wad.

Not here in the AP. St. Amant and Gonzales are known for that dumb shite. I saw some dumb arse with a dually lowered a couple months ago. What's the fricking point.

Ok, cool, you lowered the truck. Can you answer the title question: why did you do it?
Posted on 9/20/14 at 9:00 am to jordan21210
Jordan21210, your is sweet. I believe the OP should have said 'ridiculously low" to make his point.
Posted on 9/20/14 at 9:01 am to Yewkindewit
Yeah, his isn't that low
Posted on 9/20/14 at 9:06 am to TheIndulger
Back problems or height challenged. Easier to load/unload things from the bed of the truck.
