NFL and NBA seem to be running away with media air time. Obviously, NFL is in-season, but NBA is in an offseason with a stupid tournament and is getting more press time than an exciting last few weeks in baseball.
Baseball needs some new stars. I thought Bryce Harper was that guy but he's just a douche and unlikable. Needs to find a way to connect in this celebrity athlete generation.

Baseball is dead.

Fans are bored, season is too long, games are too long.

Nobody cares about baseball.

Did I get it all?

ESPN pushes stupid shite. What can I tell you? They are trying to tap an "international" market by broadcasting the FIBA tournament that no one gives a shite about. But what do I know? I've stopped watching all sports except college football and the occasional MLB game when the Cardinals are actually on national TV and not a regional provider (which is actually why you perceive that the MLB is not getting more press time--regional providers are airing the games and ESPN doesn't want to cover shite from other networks as much).

I don't keep up with MLB much anymore. The season is too long for me.

HOWEVER, I think the media coverage of MLB is better than it is for any other sport. I love hearing the analysts for MLB on any network, really. It's some of the best insight I hear on a particular sport.

In this case irrelevant is a good thing IMO. MLB news tends to be less of the TMZ type bullshite that is is in NFL and NBA, the way it should be

Baseball needs more American Blacks to add to the excitement of the game, on and off of the field.

The NBA is boring and dead- especially the regular season.

Much more dead nationally than MLB.

ESPN keeps it alive by slamming all this Kobe/Lebron/Sterling crap down everyone's throats (East Coast/NYC bias where people actually care about hoops). They give it more coverage in the OFFSEASON than MLB gets DURING its season.

Outside of the NYC/Boston area and SoCal, people hate the NBA.

Baseball doesnt need the hype- the people that watch it, which are equally dispersed around the country, are going to follow whether it gets bogus hype like the NBA or not.

No one I know watches baseball anymore. Like doesn't even flip over to watch it when nothing else is on. Like I'd rather go fap for a 3rd time in a day than watch it

I watch baseball pretty much everyday. I love the 162 game season. I've never been watching a game and thought it was taking too long either.

not enough wife and child beating or drugs (outside PEDs) going on for the media to cover much of the MLB

I love that all this shite is going on with the Redskins name but aint shite been said the Indians. I know one is more offensive than the other but still.

I was listening to svp and rusillo one day and they said that they did a survey on what people wanted them to focus less time talking about. The overwhelming majority was baseball, and it was February and they hadn't even talked about it once that month. Their show has a younger demographic majority that isn't as into baseball and the same interest may not apply to older demographics, but that can't be a good sign.

Personally, I love baseball. In our modern internet instant gratification culture, people are becoming less able to sit back and relax, and baseball is impossible to enjoy for people who are unable to do that.

Pitching has become too dominant. Not enough home run hitters.

I mean, it seems like there is never an upper deck home run anymore.

In the 90's, upper Deckers were the norm.
