Closing traffic off at the corner of North Stadium Drive and Nicholson is some bullshite.

They diverted traffic just past North Gates on Highland onto Thomas Delpit--right into the hood. What was that all about?

Hahaha...I've been taking advantage of Tiger fan's fear of driving through a black neighborhood for YEARS....I zig-zag thru The Bottom, cross Highland, zig-zag through all the "state" streets, park on north edge of campus.....and repeat in reverse after game.

I have never seen this "TRAFFIC" I read so many complaining over....never takes more than 20 minutes!

For the past few games that I've gone to, my wife and I would park our jeep along with a couple bikes on its bike rack over at the park on the lake right off Stanford Ave then we'd take the bikes on campus to our various friends' tailgates. It's a straight shoot to I-10 from that spot after the game.

I've had no problems getting out after the game. Of course I don't park near Nicholson either.

Personally I didn't think traffic was bad at all, they reported 101,000 at the game, be realistic, how long should it take to move that many people ......?

It seems like all of the problems are for anyone headed South from the Stadium, which is where the majority of the parking is so that makes sense.

I tailgate on campus, and we had most of our stuff packed and ready when the game ended. I pulled the truck around to hook up the trailer, then headed around Dalrymple to Morning Glory. Almost no traffic at all.

This was maybe 30 minutes tops after the end of the game.

I will say that when I got to the intersection of Perkins and Stanford, I could see the shite backed up on Stanford.

Once on I-10, it was a breeze back to Gonzales.

Lot 406 checking in tonight.

Contra failed that area last night. At 9:45 the police pulled up the barricades and traffic flowed. I was able to turn right on SB then head north. Again, when they decide to let traffic go both ways, it worked.

If traffic was this fricked for 65,000 people, next Saturday will be hell.

Does parking along Nicholson really cause that much delay? It has killed the Tailgaiting along that stretch. I haven't noticed any difference traffic-wise.

the traffic was just an excuse to kill the tailgating atmosphere on campus.. I truly believe they would love you to just show up for the game. the ADMIN could care less about average JOE tailgater. there all F-'n idiots.

It has improved but first 2 games weren't a real test. I leave campus from the north end and head thru the state street area... It takes about 20 minutes to get on I-10 at the most... Some big games over the years were brutal and the source was always some jackass trying to turn south off a side street onto Nicholson with 10K cars headed north on Nicholson. Of course, no one would let them thru either. So, I can see it actually improving going forward for real big games. Traffic will suck but I won't be stuck for 2 hours not moving anylonger....

Send an email to Alleva on the lack of tailgating on Nicholson... LSU often re-thinks stuff so it may help for next season. I can tell you that the 1st two games have had the impact of moving more people into my tailgate area. It will be jammed for the SEC games.

I parked in the grass lot by the soccer complex. It took 45 minutes to get from the grass lot to Brightside. The cops got it right to let fans use both lanes going south on river road. But they made you merge to one lane at the Brightside-river road intersection. What pissed me off was as hundreds of cars sat on river road, the cops were letting all 10 cars on brightside turn onto river road to go south. What part of that makes any sense? Make those 10 cars wait while the hundreds have been sitting in traffic for almost an hour move. This isn't rocket science. There was no reason two lanes of contraflow needed to merge to one lane at brightside when they weren't letting anyone go north anyway. the far right lane should have been allowed to continue moving south but because they forced us to merge, we had to sit with the brightside traffic. thanks a lot BR.

I stay on campus after the games so I don't need to fight the traffic post-game, but anyone who travels from I-10 eastbound over the Mississippi river bridge can see the incompetence of officers "controlling" the traffic. There is always a cop sitting in his car at the corner of Terrace and Nicholson Drive which is the exit ramp for Nicholson/Highland road, no to very little cross traffic on Nicholson, but this guy just sits there and watches as the exit ramp backs all the way up to the fricking Lobdell exit. WTF? It makes the bridge even that much more dangerous and creates an unnecessary bottle neck.

Negligent, stupid, lazy.

Easy fix- get the cars off the exit ramp.

Problem I saw this past weekend was a lot of fans leaving at half time and in the third quarter and contraflow had not started yet.

My Experience from Lot 406 to Shenandoah:

Got in my truck at roughly 9:30(stayed entire game, but didn't wait to listen to Alma Matter). I was in the parking lot waiting a good 15mins before the line started to move. Once I got to Skip Dr they had traffic blocked going towards River Road and forced you onto Nicholson. Drove in the contraflow all the way to Lee/Brightside and made a left at the Circle K. Lee was blocked a Burbank so the only option to was turn and head down Burbank. Drove Burbank to Bluebonnet and hooked a left. All in all it took 35mins to get from lot 406 to Shenandoah.
