Forcing accountability

One thing that will put extreme pressure on the TAF, the athletic department and Mr. King Alexander is a standoff on committed cash. I'm not talking about missing ticket donations -- that will not happen again until next Spring. Plus, who wants to lose their tickets.
How about "committed" funds to specific projects the TAF has going on around campus? Is the paper the TAF makes you sign even enforceable? Probably not. Would the TAF get the LSU lawyers after a donor to force them to pay? Maybe but that would be a brutal public battle for the TAF. Cut off the cash and watch change occur. All the emails in the world will not get them to move quickly on Mr. lester. Caught off their paychecks (a portion of them) and watch the squirming start.

Did you watch the game? They were getting beat by 28 and he threw against the Boise mascot. Look at his stats for the 1st half. And Boise ain't even close to middle tier SEC defenses.
Geal real dude. Harris sucks but Jennings is just as bad and probably even worse.
ULL got fricking skull drug by a Top 20-40 team. System on offense may be better than LSU's garbage but using Jennings or the ULL shite show as a comparison of better results against the LSU shite show is pretty damn weak.
There are many other better examples of QBs and systems out there than LSU's shite show - many

Archer (Anteater) was Program Devastator and the sequel was under Curly Gump....
Who can forget Scott Wharton starting for us -- Kenny Davidson sat the bench. Davidson played for the Steelers. Whart Hog is an MD. Smart guy, nice young man etc. but he is garbage as an SEC DL. We had very few and a maybe one or two guys from a Archer's last 2 classes that could make our current 2 deep. Rodney Young was adequate but would he play for J. Adams? No damn way. Kinchen was a stud so he would play but would he be the best player at WR? Hell no. Kinchen was a role player in his short NFL stint and wasn't even at R. Randle's NFL production level. The dropoff in talent from 1984, 85 and 86 teams to the late 90's was beyond embarrassing.
Hallman sucked bad. Terrible hire and a terrible leader but he could recruit. Go check Gump's guys who played in the NFL. A hell of a lot better than Mr. Archer.
Both were terrible coaches as far as LSU head coaches. I would agree Archer was a much better X/O guy and an overall coach than Gump. Hell, Curly went 0-10 his last year as a high school HC. That is really tough to fathom. SEC HC and can't win a damn game in high school.

re: Bianco asking ump if we threw at his batter
Posted by Marlin2114 on 5/2/16 at 5:51 am to mikelbr
Bianco is a pretender. Check his record over his time span in Oxpatch? Keep in mind he got there when only really LSU, S. Carolina and Florida were pushing baseball with real cash support. Ole Miss is 2nd fiddle to Miss State and a long, long way from LSU in baseball. For all their cheering, 1 trip under Bianco to Omaha. Check with guys who played with Bianco and his players -- he is far from a genius, real far. In fact, many ex players I personally know (I graduated from LSU in 1989 and 91) expressed concern of Smoke Lavall II if we had hired Dumb Dumb.
Is Maneri the best coach in the country? No. But, he is pretty damn good. Has he worn out his welcome at LSU? Maybe? 4 National seeds in 4 straight years ain't bad. He is due a national championship or at least a good showing in Omaha but Bianco is no upgrade

Link to state audit attached. Skip to page 72 -- Ouch. This is what our net liability is on just pensions -- not pretty.
You can also scan and see what we pay for each of the major buckets of state support.. Caution -- once you start reading, you will get aggravated.
Solutions are simple but politics prevents them from becoming reality. Some of the state supported programs are really beyond logic no matter your political perspective

600 is what Ole Piss got last year as well from the Cajuns. No whining zone here.
600 is NCAA rule. LSU could put the 600 in the bleachers but actually gives us some nice seats -- which pisses off the LSU season ticket holders.
Think back to Cajun / Ole piss game last year -- other than Manning boys seats where were most of the Johnny Rebs in Cajun land?
I'm pissed at LSU for giving up good seats. These people buy season tickets and shouldn't be shipped out of there --- I wish LSU did what the Cajuns did last year. We will give up the required 600 seats but bring some dang binoculars....

Might be true but come on, Miles was Chavis' direct boss. If Chief left b/c of this then he is a real pussy. These guys are making over 1.5M per year to fricking coach and Chief's gig was pretty damn easy for a coach. Very little recruiting, limited travel and no money limitations. How many PR type deals was the Chief ever at? Very few if any. Chief got to coach and hire the guys he wanted (remember part of the highest paid staff in the country were Chief's guys as well). Good coach but good riddance.
re: If I we're a betting man, I'd say Alleva screwed up the Chavis deal

agreed.
$1.7M for what the chief did was beyond ridiculous.

No one can explain it. Miles is way better than Sumlin if we are comparing actual bodies of work. Subjective bullshite based - well that is another story

It was pathetic execution by #31. We had the RB covered thru the middle. Welter left his position because he went for the fake. And yes, I don't expect our guys to play perfect but this is a big time repeat performance by 31. He is at least 2 steps too slow and his tackling in open space is pathetic. Great kid I'm sure but he can't compete. He is in his 5th year in the program. He ain't gonna get better.

Chief ain't all he is cracked up to be. Very predictable defense. He needs 11 All Americans to win... He gets paid to adjust and he just doesn't do that well.
Keep in mind he was run out of Tennessee. Is Chief a bad DC? No. But, is he really top notch? No.
There are probably 50 plus guys in the NFL or at other colleges that are better.
Don't even start with the stat bullshite. It pays to have Mr. Pound it in b/w the tackles as our offensive genius every year. Shorten game, less snaps equals better total yard categories.
What State did to Big Chief's defense was download embarrassing.

Posted by Marlin2114 on 9/15/14 at 7:14 am to chackbay
It has improved but first 2 games weren't a real test. I leave campus from the north end and head thru the state street area... It takes about 20 minutes to get on I-10 at the most... Some big games over the years were brutal and the source was always some jackass trying to turn south off a side street onto Nicholson with 10K cars headed north on Nicholson. Of course, no one would let them thru either. So, I can see it actually improving going forward for real big games. Traffic will suck but I won't be stuck for 2 hours not moving anylonger....
Send an email to Alleva on the lack of tailgating on Nicholson... LSU often re-thinks stuff so it may help for next season. I can tell you that the 1st two games have had the impact of moving more people into my tailgate area. It will be jammed for the SEC games.

I sat and watched closely groups leaving the stadium starting at halftime in my section. I sit in 103. There are some real old Tigers in my area and I mean old.... 4 older Tiger groups left at half and then a stream continually until I left with 3 minutes left in 4th quarter.
Its not only students, young adults with kids... Its basically everyone. I also saw the Fla game in OT. At least 35% of the stadium was empty at the beginning of the 1st OT.
I don't know the solution. It will probably take several options being continually tried until the best overall recipe is found.

Absolutely but come on, rushing up the field never means stop being a football player. Think about our lack of disruptive DL last year and against Wisky. Ferguson was good last year and Freak was NOT -- 94 appears to be a paper all American. He looks great posing for pictures but just like last year he did pretty much zero Saturday night.
Fair is fair. Should we give up on the guy? Heck no. I hope it clicks for him this week. But, he wasn't making plays. Our DBs and #4 are play makers. Forget defense called, that group of guys makes damn football plays. #16 was literally held by the damn leg on a bubble screen in the 2nd half and he made the play. 2 yard loss. He is a football player. 28 is a player. If you are going to pose for pictures then you better produce. To date, very little production from 94.

Our DBs are bad arse. I just watched the game -- seeing it live with a couple adult beverages in you never leads to an overall good evaluation of how we played.
#57, 4 and all DBs are damn good.
Our offense will continue to improve. 10 looked very good on some plays. We will continue to improve because we will be able to evolve in play calling as the season goes along in line with QBs development (now, we have an actual damn good OC, I know we will make the right calls and the right time most of the time).
