Logically, is our hope of a SB over?

we've lost 2 games to inferior opponents. now, both were on the road, but we can't punt games against any opponent
why? home field
we can't beat SEA on the road. hell, even if it's not SEA, our team basically requires home field in the playoffs
we can still make the playoffs
we can still win our division
but i honestly think that we've lost our shot at putting ourselves in position to win the super bowl, given our history

We need to play out of our minds and have the other NFC powers (SEA, really) collapse
not gonna happen sadly

We need more luck now, that's for sure.
There should still be hope. If not, just turn in your fan card and focus on soccer.

Unless Seattle can somehow drop 2 or 3 games, home field is a pipe dream and the best we can do is 2 or 3 seed.
Also, Saints management needs to have a real conversation about this defense and the coaching staff assigned to it. This defense may be good but it's giving up way too many game winning drives, think @new England and a couple others last year I can't remember, and then @Atlanta and today. The only reason it didn't happen at Philly is that we got the ball and ran it down to the last second. A pattern is forming....

Seattle could very well be 1-1 (and GB 0-2) within a few hours.

We needed an awful lot of things to go against us to wind up 0-2. Even as bad as the playcalling was and as bad as the defense plays, we probably deserve 2-0 more than 0-2.
But Payton's stubbornness would wind up biting us in the arse regardless. Brees' backside of his prime would probably wind up costing us anyway.

No. These two close losses will light the fire.

yeah that's the key. every NFC contender (esp those with an outdoor stadium) have at least 1 game on us already
we've fricked up one of our gimmie games and now have to upset a team just to get back to even steven

It's two games man. We've played 1/8th of our schedule and not even a home game.
I thought you were smarter than this.

every year people say this after a bad loss
then when we miss homefield for the playoffs, we go "if only we hadn't lost against [insert gimmie win]!"

This is only highlighting how important the first month of the season is in the NFL. It sets the tempo and what kind of team you'll be and determines the measured response other teams will give you. There's a reason why 0-2 teams rarely make the playoffs.

It's not over. If we still win the division we might only have to win one road playoff game. Get the right team and that could happen. Look at 2010 if we beat the niners in that playoff game we have the NFC championship at home. At this point we just need to get a rhythm and hope the defense improves. I still have faith that we go 7-1 at home and at least split our last 6 road games. I thought we would go 11-5 preseason, now I'm thinking 10-6 but who knows

It was always about home field. The dream is over . First round playoff loss to somebody like Green Bay / Niners . :

Statistically yes. I posted this in another thread.
Since 1990, only 11.6% of teams starting 0-2 have made the playoffs. (23 out of 198 teams)
If the Saints have any intention of overcoming those 88.4% odds against them, they had better shape up and get their shite together, because it's a long road to being that 24th team in the above statistic.

10-6 is doable but man we'd have to get lucky as shite to get the NFC title game at home
that'd take 2, maybe 3 upsets in the playoffs likely
