Logically, yes. This team is already squarely behind the eight ball in terms of getting HFA. They won't do any better than last year without it. I don't know what it is, but Payton's offense is just never consistent on the road. Take last week against the Falcons, they'd run up and down the field and shite themselves in the red zone. This week it took them a half to even wake up. They have picked up exactly where they left off re: road woes.

With 14 games to go, we are 1 game behind the favorite to win home-field advantage.

The 2 or 3 seed wouldn't be a doomsday scenario, either. There's always a chance someone knocks off #1 en route to the NFCCG.

Also, just because we never have played well on the road in the playoffs doesn't mean we are incapable; believing that because something always has happened means it always will is a logical fallacy in and of itself.

We beat a 10 win team on the road in the playoffs last year and only lost to Seattle by one possession. As of now it looks like we have taken a step back, but Payton-coached Saints teams have done this shite before.

Look at it this way - we all knew there was going to be a game this year where we fricked around on the road and lost inexplicably.

We also knew that sweeping the division was unlikely.

I think the panic is setting in because the losses came back-to-back to start the year.

I'm terrified that we let Brian Hoyer lead a game-winning drive on us, but Geno Smith and Kellen Clemens beat us last year. Tampa Bay's sorry arse team came into the Dome during our Super Bowl run and almost took home-field advantage away from us.

I'm not ready to say that it's over yet. Did we make things much more difficult for ourselves? Of course. I think we can dig out of this rut, though.

It is week two

Relax

Take a deep breath

We are down one division game and one non-conference game

The media darling Seahawks are up one division game and down one non-conference game

If anything I agree with knat and style and performance are way more important than standings right now

I have a few questions in my mind right now:

Is Brees still a little hurt or is he losing arm strength? Is the vertical pass game DOA?

Is PROB just another FSU functional retard in the NFL and there is no hope for him?

Is the bloom off the Ryan rose?

Why are we so reluctant to change styles if the running game is working?

Who will step up in the lance Moore 3rd down slot role?

IT seems like Ryan is known as a guru and wizard wherever he goes but teams get film on him, expose him and he runs out of tricks. Can you remember a rob Ryan defense that had a rep of being fundamentally sound?

We lost 2 road games against bad teams. It doesn't get any easier.

It's clear whatever the Saints did this off-season didn't work at getting them ready to play on the road and that is at all levels from coaching to play calling, to play by the players.

I think it will be tough, and if we go by history, losing your first two makes it tough to just make the playoffs much less the Super Bowl, but this team has the talent at most positions to do it.

Brees still is mediocre on the road, especially outside of domes, and the defense has yet to turn into a shut down defense you can trust to win you a game. Last season proved that multiple times. In the end, they have to improve, but its not illogical for them to make a wildcard if not still end up with the 2 seed.

Detroit looked like world beaters Monday night and then got shut down this weekend. Green Bay's defense is just horrible. Minny and Chicago look bad too.

In the East, Philly isn't better than last year and will lose games, but the rest of the East is a mess.

I don't see 3 teams from the West making out this year, but 2 is likely.

In the end, it's not logical to count the Saints out.

Since 1990, only 11.6% of teams starting 0-2 have made the playoffs. (23 out of 198 teams)

Of these teams how many have gotten to the Superbowl and how many have one it?
