1.Commercials
2.the fact the ESPN is more interested in drama than sports. Took 30 minutes into sportscenter to see Stanton drilled in the face.
3.the committee of bias and uninformed people voting on who gets to play in the college football playoff.

1. Football season is finally here but all we keep hearing about is Goodell and the NFL with their PR stunts. Please, some of us have known the league has been full of shite for a few years now.

2. The local sports radio station airing the Paul Finebaum show about the time I'm heading home from work each day.

3. No one gives a shite about your fantasy football team. You know who you are. Keep that to yourself unless you won your league or something.

1. The psychology of modern era sports superfans -- i.e. inability to be objective about anything or anyone associated with favorite team, hate-mailing/hate-tweeting media members or opposing players, the Harvey Updykes of the world who defend Ray Rice and take sports passion way too far.

2. The death of the objective sports media -- i.e. reporters being mouthpieces for leagues, coaches and/or players for access (Peter King, Mike Florio). That extends to local sports media covering college and pro teams as well.

3. Money rules everything -- i.e. conference realignment and the death of some rivalries in college football, player/coach contracts, stadium deals, revenues above everything.

1. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The team I hated most growing up, it's gone beyond that. They had this thing called the "Carolina Way" which basically said they do things better than everyone else. Now that we find out that it's a total lie and they make up fake classes to keep athletes eligible to play, they revert to "Everybody does it." The worst part? They're getting away with it!

2. Alabama football. I'm an LSU fan, enough said.

3. One-and-done in college basketball. Ruins the enjoyability and chemistry of teams when every single player on the roster could possibly go pro.

I won my league last year. Want to hear about my team and my trades?

It's the freedom from religion foundation. Anytime a school or sports team has a cross on their helmets or a coach who says a prayer before the game with the team, they are always first to complain. They always try to get anything like it banned in sports. Recently Arkansas state for having crosses on their helmets.

1. Predictions - there is no more analysis anymore, just people prognosticating on the outcome of an event that's going to happen in a matter of hours. Just wait a little while and we'll know the outcome; no need to try to guess it.

2. Rankings - similarly, everything has to be ranked. Who's the #1 CB? Which QB's are elite? These questions are irrelevant.

3. Patrick Reed's choker - no explanation needed.

2. Rankings

this WAS fun in doses like 15 years ago, the rise of PTI and debate television fricking ruined a small weekly joy, and now they all have to have a one line comment having nothing to do with football

That people think this playoff system is really going to be SOOOOOO much better than the BCS.

This. The BCS worked perfectly all but maybe 2 times (and even those are debatable). Early prediction: The 4-team system will leave many jimmies rustled this year alone.

One thing I hate right now are the percentages that ESPN does, which are complete BS. Alabama doesn't have an 92% chance of beating [insert school], there are 2 possible outcomes to the game - win or lose.

They're patently arbitrary, and they exist out of a stupid metric that ESPN conjured out of thin air. Maybe it's just the math nerd in me, but I prefer percentages measuring fundamental occurrences and not be predictive of a future event.

One other to add... any video game simulation of a game, presented as a prediction.

I don't mind predictions based on specific information/educated analysis, but the god damn ranking of everything under the sun is so fricking annoying. I would rank that as my number one thing that I hate most in sports right now.

I can't stand the constant myopia as well -- Eli Manning wins a SB, so he's now elite, then he throws 21 interceptions and is garbage.

Peyton Manning hurts his neck - is he done? Goes on to have a great season the next two years, is he the greatest ever?

Patriots lose week 1 - are they done? Bills win week 1 - are they making the playoffs?

Notre Dame makes the National Championship game in 2012 - THEY'RE BACK.

LeBron can't win the big one - he's not a winner. Wins 2 in a row - is he the best ever?

Everything, immediately after it occurs, is the BEST EVAR or the WORST EVAR.

1) The widespread belief in this country that one and done playoffs are the BEST way to determine champions

2) 24 hour talking head "sports coverage" (aka, lack of highlights or actual analysis of the games)

3) NFL defensive penalties. Basically you can't touch a WR. It's ridiculous. Let them play
