The fact that no one has mentioned Catch-22 or One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest yet is a fricking travesty.

Also, The Once and Future King has got to be up there for me, along with your typical Catcher in the Rye, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Things They Carried, etc.
