Well, if you want to make this about yards and TDs, look no further than Williams senior year. He had more of all those things than Fournette.

Lol. Go see Jeremy hills and Kenny Hilliard senior stats

Well, other than those two, what prolific RBs have there been with upright running styles in the last 30 years?

Eric Dickerson, Rueben Mayes, Harvey Williams come to mind. If I really thought about it, I'd come up with more. Like Ricky Waters.

gary James wasn't nearly as big or fast as Fournette nor was he the #1 rated recruit in the country coming out of high school. Fournette has Pretty similar size/speed to Landon Collins

He took zone for a 61 yard td run against our 1st d and out ran all of our DBS. That proved it for me.

I don't think Williams has better footwork.

I wouldn't worry too much about Fournette running style he knows when to keep his pads low.

We'll see, and that just it. Very few fans have assessed him much, because just like in high school, he's in the shadow of LF. I forgot who I heard say this (may have been Lynn Scarborough (sp)), but in any other year, this kid is far and away the top recruit in the state, and has scouts drooling. While I think LF is a "generational" player, I won't be surprised if DW turns out to be a stud in his own right.

Tell you one thing straight up. Any running back the signs w/LSU in the same year as LF is supremely confident, and THINKS he's pretty dang good.

2012
Jeremy Hill - 146 Carries
Spencer Ware - 94 Carries
Kenny Hilliard - 82 Carries
Michael Ford - 71 Carries

2011
Spencer Ware - 177 Carries
Michael Ford - 127 Carries
Alfred Blue - 78 Carries
Kenny Hilliard - 62 Carries

What people think were "by committee" these years, they were not.

2011
-Ware before suspension (18.3 carry avg)
-Ford as 2nd leading rusher before Ware suspension (9.6 carry avg)

2012
-Hill after emerging at USCe (18.4 carry avg)
-Ware as 2nd leading rusher after Hill's emergence (7.7 carry avg)

So there is definitely a #1 back, and once he proves himself, he will get around 18 carries a game at the least.

Incorrect. They were both excellent backs with different skills. Both were drafted in the second round of the 1986 NFL draft, and James actually went before Hilliard. The buzz back in 1982 was about James until preseason camp started. Word immediately got out that Hilliard was the one impressing everyone, but part of that was because Hilliard wasn't hyped the way James had been. Hilliard went on to set the SEC rushing yards record, but James was a very good back, as well. They were both stars.

Eric Dickerson says "hi" and he was durable as well. I hope both are highly productive. They are very different runners, way more so than DD/Toe, but it's always great to have a 1 and 1a RB.

Well he is 18 and 230. And also very fast.

While he looks great for an 18 year old, this isn't like Lebron James coming out of HS and still being dramatically bigger, stronger faster than all the other pro players.

Lebron wasn't dramatically bigger coming out of high school. he as about pro size.

LF is pro size now. As a freshmen. And he is only gonna get better

It is possible that we could have a second coming of the Dalton-James gang, yes... Only this time it will be surrounded by top tier talent around them on both sides of the ball.

i like DW a lot. he can definitely play at LSU. he is not in the same class as LF and neither is anyone else playing college football. in fact, as good as DW is, he had better watch out for guice coming on strong right behind him.

Landon Collins would've made a ridiculous running back.

Some prized 5* offensive players who were outplayed by lower-star recruits at their position at LSU under Miles:

- Keiland Williams
- Ryan Perriloux
- Terrance Tolliver
- Chris Davenport
- Reuben Randle
- Russell Shepherd
- Spencer Ware

So basically, almost all of them.
