To simply dismiss Cameron's role in Zach Mettenberger's great season by saying Mett was a 5th yr season, well, that's just retarded.

considering the source it should be no surprise that it is retarded. i don't trust drag queen look a likes that have a issue with LSU to report unbiased and accurately.

This guy just can't help himself. Saying Cam didn't change Mett is just ignoring the facts. If you don't agree go ask Mett.

I imagine that the idiot would give Saban all the credit in the world if a 5th year defensive play had a great year after he showed up.

And he threw for 1700 yards as a freshman. I don't think it's inconceivable to see Harris exceeding that. We won't run either QB as much as they ran him though.
Yea pretty much 1700/yds per year as fresh, jr, sr, had 2200 as soph. His TD to INT ratio was pathetic (42/37). At least he had more TD than INT's which is more than Archie Manning can say for his NFL career (123 TD and 172 INT)

Anybody that couldn't see the difference CC made in Mett is retarded.

QBs often have their best years as seniors or when they have been in the system a few years. Look at Lee and Jefferson.

Cam looks like the real deal, but anyone pushing him as a miracle worker or the next LSU head coach based on 2013 is retarded too.

Quinn has been lights out according to every other report coming out of camp.

* Was not overly complimentary of Cam Cameron. Said Mett was 5th year senior when CC got him so he was advanced already. Mentioned Randle El as the only real young raw QB that CC brought along and Harris/Jennings have nowhere near the talent that Randle El had

Mett was not good before Cameron got him the last two years. This is probably the absolute dumbest thing GG has ever written. To say that CC isn't 50% responsible (Mett himself the other 50) for his success and NFL prep is hilarious.

A guy that didn't even play QB full time in college

Dude, Randle-El played WR for about 2 games his senior year until they realized they wouldnt win any games unless he was at QB, so he went back to QB. I wouldnt call that "not full time".

That a 5th yr Sr would improve is expected. But can you attribute all the improvement seen in Mett to that? Cam deserves some credit.

If he's so wrong on this point, why should we trust anything else he says?

agreed

Quinn is much further ahead than dupre from what I've heard and read. Not a shot at dupre, he's just still adjusting

GG saw my post yesterday and decided to speak up.

He is usually right about most of this. I doubt that our QBs are horrible and know they have talent. Also, Cam Cameron is a fine OC and developer of QBs, so GG is talking out of his butt there. I am not buying that both QBs are terrible. They were both highly rated coming out of high school and either the recruiting services and LSU coaches CONSTANTLY get QBs wrong and Mett is the only one who could be decent at LSU, or GG is overreacting - or, our secondary is sick.

But, I do remember the film back in the Spring when neither QB could hit the broad side of a barn and Cam was saying that they were going to run the Veer offense if these guys didn't get it together. Makes you wonder why Rettig transferred though if Harris and Jennings are both horrible. He must have been horrible too and Rutgers wanted a horrible QB.

We knew the QB situation was bad in 2008. GG confirmed. Hard to believe it will be that bad again.

At least I hope not.

Wasn't overly accurate as a passer but damn athletic. I'll withhold comparing Harris until he takes a few snaps.

You can withhold comparing all you want, the post you posted said that they weren't even near as 'talented', not productive.

Talent for a QB is fairly easy to look at, productivity is another issue all together.

I think the QBs will be inconsistent his year which will hold this team back from being great. Excited to see what this D can do, so many great athletes all over the field

Another great quote from a few weeks ago...

"Who gets the starting QB spot? The one that can hand it to LF the best."
