I've read a lot of complaints about the FP models. Plus the capacity in the 2 drawers seems to be lower. I'm glad to hear good things about the Kitchenaid and Bosch models since that is where I'm leaning. I like the looks and quiet of my Samsung, so I would like to keep with a super quiet model with hidden controls.

Thanks for all the feedback so far.

Me, my mom and my sister all have Bosch. We haven't had any problems.

They have always treated me and my family very fairly. This includes services the apartment complex that we used to own.

A friend of mine recently experienced a house fire due to her dishwasher catching on fire. I now make it a point not to run my dishwasher unless I am home.

We bought a Bosch Ascenta a few months ago and love it. Very quiet and cleans like crazy.

Just don't get a Fisher Paykel.

I love ours. Two drawers and has never broken down in 3 years. Is extremely quiet and by far cleans better than anything else I've ever owned.

We have 3 Fisher Paykels. No trouble from any of them.

I put 2 in the last house that was built, 2 more in this house, no problems at all. I don't know how to turn em on, but I don't want to learn.

I'm assuming that you meant Thermador.

Save yourself a few hundred dollars and get a Bosch instead. Thermador and Bosch are the same company. Bosch makes all of the Thermador dishwashers.

Also Kitchenaid, Maytag, Jennair, and Whirlpool are all the same company. As is Electrolux and Frigidaire.

GE Profile for a year now. So far, so good.

It's amazing how quiet all the new ones are.

For those with Kitchen Aid (and like it) can you tell me the model? I have to purchase asap. I was looking at the Kitchen Aid classic and the reviews mentioned control panel issues. I like the sleek look, but want a dishwasher that cleans and is reliable.

How long have you had it? That is what I am trying to replace. Top drawer won't drain and bottom drawer is not cleaning.

Maybe it is just me, but I would rather no one be home if the house catches fire, surely there is the chance that some one would smell or notice the fire before it got out of hand, but not worth the chance that maybe someone would not notice

We have a lower end Maytag, not stainless, probably the lowliest one to have a delayed start feature and fully electronic control panel. It cleans extremely well, is not too loud, and it's been solid, though the handle did break after about seven years, which, as I found out, is a well known problem. It was easy to fix for about $15 using parts ordered from Amazon. Warning: Disconnect the power cord before attempting repair to avoid 120v tickle. The new rule is not to latch the thing unless you're going to wash dishes. This should make the handle outlive the dishwasher.
