Interesting article about what is going on, or should be going on, in Ferguson, MO from the perspective of a former Army Ranger.

I don't understand why rural farmers and suburban residents aren't coming into Ferguson armed to help the police restore order. A significant reason why we have the 2nd amendment is so that countrymen can help defend the nation in time of need. These looters and destroyers are basically an invading army. It troubles me that rural farmers and stable suburban citizens aren't saying "enough!" and coming take back their state from a third world, dependent culture.

Yes, because having a militia getting into the middle of this clusterfrick would help things out SO much.
This thing's already a tinderbox without adding more armed individuals into it.

Probably for the same reason the people of ferguson wouldn't go to rural Missouri and help the farmers: its not their community.

so supporting the 2nd means shooting citizens? what the hell? maybe re-read that again and read the FP again

Because they are destroying their own neighborhoods so really nobody cares. It'd be like me saying "Hey, I don't like what you're doing so I'm going to punch myself in the balls in protest of your actions". You would sit back and laugh, not try to stop me.
The moment violence like you see in Ferguson spills into a middle or upper class, majority white suburban area you'll see a much different response.

Cause it's not their neighborhood so who gives a frick?

The only interesting thing is that using that perspective tosses out a whole lot of legal framework. Equating protesters, looters/rioters with insurgents demonstrates a shallow understanding of important structural differences as well as opening up consideration of TTP's proscribed by law in this country.

Why should they. With a remark like above you would just turn it into a racist discussion about how these rednecks just want to shoot at a black man.

Thank god we aren't a third world country where people like you aren't running things.
That's all we need is a bunch of fcktards with more guns running around causing a huge mess of what in reality is a pretty minor thing that will be forgotten about in a few weeks.

Every time I read one of Hell Hell to Michigans post I sit back and laugh. Then I remember he is a fan of probably the most liberal college in America.

Did you read the article?

He also descended into groups of protestors by himself to shake hands and hear the grievances which people had. This allowed the protestors to see the human face of the police force. Rather than a Army of faceless riot police, they were confronted with a man who was willing at least try to help.
Ive been saying this for a long time.
Few people see police as humans anymore because you really only see the cruisers and not a person walking around.
They're more of a machine to people, therefre people think of them as cold and heartless.
