They are probably used to 1 out of every 2 or 3 tipping them. So it won't be awkward either way if you do.

Ordered a full living room set last summer. Sectional sofa, recliner, coffee table, end tables, lamps, rug, etc. The delivery guys set up everything for me. I did not have a problem giving them a $40 tip.

Should you tip the Kirby vacuum guys after they clean your living room ?

I feel like a dick after this thread. I usually over tip everywhere, but I didn't think tipping freight delivery guys was a thing. I guess i'll start tipping them as well.
What about UPS/FedEx delivery guys? Mailman? Yard Guys? Landscapers? Electricians? plumbers?

Hmmm...I never thought of tipping them when I had bedroom furniture delivered. I thought the $90 I paid for them covered that. After reading this thread, looks like I was an arse

To me it depends on what they charged you to get the delivery.
It depends on what it is, how big the delivery is, how much work they have to do like climbing stairs or setting stuff up.
To me you just go what you think is right. If you see them sweating their arse off climbing stairs, you should do something. A tip, some water, a smoke, Gatorade, a beer.

Must be a Louisiana thing and I've lived in Texas too long and become as jaded as all other Texans, because nobody tips fricking delivery guys for doing their job here.
I tip valets and wait staff at restaurants. Period. The only exception for delivery people is if the delivery is not just door-to-door, but involves setup and carrying upstairs.

What this guy said. Freakin it's a job and I am glad you have one. I support enough people with my taxes I am not giving any more free handouts.

I probably wouldn't if it was one or two pieces that only took 15 minutes to set up. It would be a real time decision. I tipped the movers a lot, though.
