The emails show that Lerner emailed a colleague to ask about the storage and retention of OCS conversations—messages sent using Microsoft’s Office Communications Server. In the exchange, Lerner expresses concern about possible congressional requests for IRS communications.

"I had a question today about OCS," Lerner wrote. "I was cautioning folks about email and how we have had several occasions where Congress has asked for emails and there has been an electronic search for responsive emails—so we need to be cautious about what we say in emails. Someone asked if OCS conversations were also searchable—I don’t know, but told them I would get back to them. Do you know?"

I had a friend work as a paralegal in an employment law firm and pretty much at every private company they worked with emails and Microsoft messenger texts were saved forever.

It’s hard to look at Lerner’s query and not wonder why, exactly, she’s so concerned about what Congress might find in IRS emails or other types of electronic communications. She seems to be expressing a fairly clear desire to shield certain types of agency communications from possible congressional scrutiny, and she indicates that she has advised agency employees to take steps to ensure that what Congress sees is limited.

This is an isolated incident.

You guys act like there is some pattern of Lois Lerner attempting to hide her activities from Congressional inquiries.

What I want to talk about is that damn equine.

Now that this has been found, the committee has a responsibility to make this a "show". There should be absolutely no hesitation anymore.

In this exchange, the "co-worker" provided the information necessary to allow an individual to avoid the standard Electronics Data Request that would occur in result of a congressional request. He did so knowing the intention was to ensure a means to shield information from Congress and gov oversight.

Because I am sure the DOJ will ignore this, this guy should be summoned before a congressional hearing.

They have a responsibility to raise enough stink over this that no one can ignore it.

Fair or flat tax.

No deductions.

Taxes are a simply equation that anyone can do and finish in five minutes.

Tax payment evaluation is a simply computer program and there are no grey zones requiring intense analysis and litigation.

The manpower required currently is redirected to other endeavors resulting in great wealth for the nation.

The IRS is eliminated as a political weapon and enemy to freedom.

Everyone wins.

It can be implemented slowly of decades so that the accountants do not suffer, students will simply go into other fields.
