Why can't New Orleans start by investing in 20 of them on Bourbon Street to protect our biggest tourism asset?
quote:Because you're too fricking stupid and blinded by idiocy to do so. Quit regurgitating what you hear the "community leaders" say. That is in quotes because 99% of the time, they just blame white people and don't actually do a damn thing to help the community
I'm not going to even dignify that with a response because it's so dumb that I actually lost a few brain cells reading it

I don't know why they aren't releasing more.
I went the BHS with a Homicide Sergeant and see his stuff on FB.
He said at the press conference we have video of the two shooting at each other and we know what you look like and then a few minutes later he says if the public knows who these individuals are please contact the NOPD. Clearly the NOPD doesn't know who they are yet.

Why isn't this shite easier; if you're completely poor, young and stupid, OR in the film industry, you're a Democrap. If you're too religious, you're a Repug. Everyone else seems to understand there is middle ground, gray area, same as your brain.
How much do you guys want to keep fighting?

You and your victim role pandering is disgusting and is the root to the CURRENT problem. Stop trying to diagnose where the problem could have started years ago and start looking at what the problem IS NOW.

Your responses are to blame others rather than yourselves.
I need to get out and do something so I will leave with a truism.
The white community in the state of Louisiana and New Orleans cares more for the lives of the average black person than the black community of New Orleans. What backs up my statement?
The inaction of the black community every single time this happens.
The only time there is outrage is when it's a business owner shot or when it's at a black event like St. Joseph's day or the mother's day parade.
If the black community would stand up against the cancer inside of it, we could move this city forward so much quicker.

Mom works 2 or 3 jobs. She has no help. She doesn't get home til 2 or 3 in the morning. She tries her best to teach him the things he needs to survive. Sex ed just doesn't come up.
Really, is this the norm? Be honest with yourself. There is "help". Its food stamps, welfare, disability, housing, cell phone, medicaid. There's plenty help. There's simply no excuse in this era, with easy access to information, to not know what a condom is.
I hear it touted that there's more whites on welfare than blacks. Which means there are more poor white people...so where is all the violent white crime, if poverty is the reason?

Their main response, if anything, to murders within the black community is to make a t-shirt and cry on the news about doing something to protect the children. Guess what happens three days later?
Nothing
They can say all they want, but actions speak louder than words, and they aren't doing a damn thing to stop it

Keep with the victim mentality you idiot. You wanna know why inner city black people have such a hard time? Personal fricking responsibility
Oh no, the war on drugs is at fault. Don't deal illegal drugs and you won't go to jail. Oh no, they put them all in projects. Get a fricking job, get your own house, and move out. Oh bad schools that the government puts us in is the cause. Get a fricking job and put your kid in catholic school, or maybe give a shite about your kid and put them in a charter school.
People like you are the problem, nothing else. It is you and the way you think, nothing else again. Keep making excuses for people being shitty and they'll continue doing it. Hell, why don't we pay them to do extra because their kid can't add 2+2? Oh wait, it's already happening.
Preach and preach all you want about this garbage, but it is 100% your's and people just like your mentality that keeps everything the same way
Victim fricking mentality, and you are the reason why inner city black people won't ever do better for themselves. Truth hurts, doesn't it dipshit?
I am in the bad neighborhoods you bitch about all day, every day of the week. I see the shite. I talk to the people. Get off your high horse and realize how the world actually works
Have an Upvote sir. The victim mentality is it…I am walking a fine line in this thread, I don't want to get banned even though there has not been a single racists comment in this thread…but RDR's has given us some golden quotes:
quote:
I'm not going to even dignify that with a response because it's so dumb that I actually lost a few brain cells reading it
quote:
Hers an old saying in the black community. "You have to work twice as hard, to be just as good"
quote:
Black people from the beginning of this country have started off disadvantaged. It's hard to pull yourself up when the very government you seek to get approval from conspires to keep you in the gutter]
quote:
The system deserves as much as blame as the community
quote:
The welfare trap, the war on drugs, which disproportionally arrest black people at a higher rate than any other race in this country, housing policies that effect which public school you can enter.
This is clearly I'm a Victim mentality…Hammertime nailed it.

Maybe Landrieu is on top of it all and the the Bourbon Street perp looked like this:

You know what I am saying but it's the antithesis of your belief system so you don't get it.
What I don't get is why the guys you put in office grow the government at the same rate or more than the guys we put in.
Has there ever even been a true conservative president?
I know there has never been a true Liberal either.
Just middle ground and us doing all the fighting.
I think the socialistic systems of Europe are the way to go. In simpler terms.
But lets not derail this further.
I'll start a beliefs thread on the PT tonight and y'all can all tell me how dumb I am in there.
okay?

What has the first black president done to help the black community?
Ideally, he would serve as a role model for young blacks. An example-proof- that their skin color is no longer going to keep them from accomplishing things. But I don't see where anything as changed in that regard.

Police need to start doing patdowns at the corner of Canal and Bourbon, and then in other 'hot spots' like in front of Chris Owens. Police presence on bourbon needs to be doubled, especially after hours.

As retarded as Serpas is, I have all the confidence in the world that these guys will get caught...and relatively soon. These idiots who spray bullets around town can't help but brag about their criminal behavior. Word always gets out.
As far as the "black community" bearing responsibility to act out, I have to disagree. The successful black doctor who lives across the street from my white father has no more obligation to take action than my father does.

SuperSaint said something about how dealers operate on certain blocks on Bourbon which they basicalyl control. What Landrieu/Serpas need to do is create a task force specifically for the FQ and Bourbon to sniff these guys out and bust them before shite like this goes down. Whether it's through the use of informants or whatever. We should aim for prevention , not clean up duty after another mass shooting.
