Ok take this example: you have a kid growing up in the inner city. He has to go to which school is his district right? It's a poor school, because the area around it is poor. Mom works 2 or 3 jobs to help pay bills so she doesn't have a lot of time to supplement his education with her own experiences. The school has no sexual education program. No health classes or if it does doesn't have a proper teacher for it. He grows up knowing nothing about contraception but knows about sex because he talks to his friends. so what's the likely hood this kid uses a condom or even knows what it is? Compare that to the average middle class school with more money and better resources

what are your thoughts on Dr Ben Carson?

He achieved more coming from the ghetto dirt poor. I would call him an extraordinary person.

And what good would it do?
Thugs are going to thug. They don't care about a damn camera of if a cop is 10 feet away from them.

There is money to be saved in man hours but government doesn't like to save money just spend it. Think of all the crime that would be filmed on any given night on bourbon.

Thank god that some people with common sense have allowed for charter and magnet schools to grow in N.O.
Many of the racebaiters including the old Orleans Parish school board peeps hate it.

I bet if you compared funding per student in these "inner cities", there is a shitload of money being spent per kid.

Anyone else watching this farce of a news conference Serpas is about to give? Setting up a podium in the middle of Bourbon Street? Come on.

Mom should have told him what a condom is.

Or dad should of, and if Dad isn't in the picture then Mom really dropped the ball there.

Again he is extraordinary because of his drive and intelligence. How many people black or white have that kind of intelligence to achieve what he has?

8.5 hours later, we would sure as hell have some clear photos of the shooter instead of having to go through the process to get it from private businesses and piece it together.

Not sure about you but I'd rather have a guy who emptied a magazine into a crowd apprehended sooner than later.

Mom works 2 or 3 jobs. She has no help. She doesn't get home til 2 or 3 in the morning. She tries her best to teach him the things he needs to survive. Sex ed just doesn't come up.

I'm sure this happens, bit an inner city mom working 3 jobs is nowhere near the norm. If it were, you'd have a lot less problems in the black community.

It would do a shite ton of good if these thugs were arrested right after the crime. The reason people do crimes is because they know the chance of being caught is minimal.
The risk v reward.
And most have little care for life.

But I see the risk/reward thing a lot. A lot of drivers in NOLA lately run every red light. I have been noting this more and more. They stop and then go like it's a stop sign. Why? very few traffic cops around in those areas I guess. I noted this happening quite a few times last week. While minor it shows a gross contempt for the law and others safety over one's own need to travel.

IMO the problem is in the BLACK community. I know it upsets people to say that.
Stop reproducing if you can't afford a kid.
