I have three classes left before completion. I have yet to double up a class and kicking myself for not doubling up a few since I started. What are your opinions on doubling up any of these following classes? FIN701 MKT701 MADM760 Any suggestions on professors as well?

If you're used to doing just one class at a time, you might have some serious issues pairing any two of these three classes. You've essentially saved 3 of the more time consuming classes for last.

Not to say you can't, but I expect it might be too much for you to handle if it took you this long to consider doubling. None of these classes are particularly difficult, they're just time consuming.

It must’ve been too early when I did my last post...I’m actually taking Aadel Darrat. Sorry for any confusion.

No problems, like I said they're pretty much using the exact same format.

Do you have an accounting background? Do you think someone, like myself, without any accounting experience can do well in the class or would you recommend taking the foundation class first? Thank you.

I agree with the others, you won't need the foundation courses. I don't have an accounting or business background, my undergrad degrees are in communications and design, I did fine--with a special thanks to this forum and everyone's advice. I suggest Ambrosio for Acct, Shaughnessy for Econ, and Vines for Fin. With that said, knowing Excel will make those classes easier.

MKT 701 with Kungu, are the exams open or closed book?

Aadel for MKT 701? I'm in it now too. How bad was the first test? Studying now, but it is chapters 1-4 and seems like a LOT of material. I'm kinda concentrating on the powerpoints he prepared at this point and hoping for the best.

No writing in Ambrosias class, all math/accounting.
Weekly quizzes and a final.

The final is different than the quizzes so prepare for it.

It was a lot of information but he also gave us about three weeks to go over it all, which I didn’t. Got a C on the Exam, as was to be expected. I learned a lot about his testing strategy and how he makes his questions from that test so the next two shouldn’t be nearly as bad. But, like you said, 25 questions over four chapters of material is a bit absurd. He could’ve broken that up into two separate tests. What are your next courses?

I ended up with a 84% on Exam 1, not too bad I guess. My next class is going to be my last - ACCT 701, can't wait. How much longer do you have?

Looking for advice on who to take for MADM760 and ACCT701.

Looking at Ambrosio or Li Huang for ACCT701

Is Meeks the best way to go for MADM760? I would prefer to avoid group projects if at all possible.

I'm 3 tests in on Huang's class and I can't imagine this class being any easier. The tests are straight-forward and the answers come directly from the weekly powerpoint.

I’ll have 6 left. Congrats for you! You can see the light! I’d love to be doubling up but with the amount of work I do, it’s tough.

Any easy electives out there I can pair up with Acct 701? Right now I am stuck with MADM 720 (Williams) but am hearing lots of writing so it may not be an ideal double up class?

My experience with the group project for Meeks MADM 760 was a good one. Meet once a week and record the discussion and submit the weekly group tasks. But if you want to avoid a group project then there’s other professors that don’t require one. Other assignments in Meeks call for a lot of writing and weekly open book quizzes (allowed to take multiple times for high score). No final exam but there is a final writing assignment.

Take Ambrosio, his zoom sessions were very helpful
I got an A in the course and I'm not the best with numbers
