I knew from the first zoom when that girl started going on and on about the test that there would be whiners. I missed the last zoom and I wished he had posted the replay. I like the guy a lot and can’t believe these people feel that entitled. Was it the same girl acting up last week?

In regards to MKT-701 with Kahn and students on zoom complaining and asking for their money back...

I didn’t listen. I just read the emails he sent out (they were detailed about what went on) and felt bad for the guy. I replied and told him not to let the safe-spacers get to him. But I’ve found the class prettty simple. I Just do the readings and listen to the lectures. Some of the quiz questions are a little silly (two answers that could be right) but it’s fine.

Jump start for Shaugnessy/Econ would just be to watch some videos on regression analysis, study Game Theory/prisoners dilemma. Supply and demand curves. Get comfortable with excel. Maybe looking up those types of problems on the interwebs. and pay for subscription to chegg.

Based on my experience with the program, I believe more stringent requirements to enter the program would decrease the number of whiners we encounter. Some of the folks I’ve encountered have no business in grad school. In some extreme cases, I’m surprised they were able to earn an undergrad degree.

taking with Dr. Williams

I'm in the same course. One of the other students in the class that is finishing up her last semester told me that this is one the hardest she's taken simply because of the work load. I'm carrying a high B, but it's a LOT.

In the home stretch. Knocking out MADM 760 this session.

Remaining:
Acct 701 - Hopefully Ambrosia
MADM 701
MADM 720 or different elective - Williams

Any thoughts on which 2 I can double up on? Is there a different elective other than MADM 720 for an easy A?

If you take Kungu for MAMDM 701 you can easily double up. Do not take Heller for 701.

EDIT: Kungu may no longer be at LSUS.
And Heller may be your only option. Hes not that bad just some writing and studying thats a little excessive for Org Behavior.

Dont know much about 720.

Acct 701 is fine with Ambrosia just make sure you're good for the final. Everyone in my class got A's on the weekly quizzes then bombed the final. He then had to curve the shite out of it. He might have restructed the class all together after that debacle. (took last fall).

Planning on doing ISDS 710 and MADM 701 during summer AP1. ISDS 702 and MKT 701 during AP2. Not working full time. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Also which professors would you all prefer for the above courses.

take Gibbs for ISDS 702 and you can double up if you want.

Even with the new professors for MKT 701, it seems James is probably still the best. Likely dont want to double this class with her.

TLDR: ACCT 701 with Dr. Li Huang is quite doable with another class.

I am in my first class of the program, but I wish I would have known more before. Two tests in and I totally wish I would have taken an additional class with ACCT 701 (Li Huang).

I do not have any accounting background and have made a 100 on the first 2 tests (closed book, 10 questions multiple choice, proctorio). The "homework" consists of a 20 question which are open note proctorio, two attemps...made a 100 on both modules so far.

Everything you need to know for the weekly test (50% of grade) and "homework" assessment (30% of grade) is in the powerpoint. If I understand the concepts on the homework assessment, then I will know the weekly test. It's not the same test, but the questions are around the same concepts and style. This is the format for the entire session from what I can tell. I spend about 5 to 10 hours a week, tops.

The only caveats I see/know is A) Dr. Li Huang is somewhat hard to understand when listening to the lectures, but I get what I need out of it, B) There is a "project" at the end of the semester that we haven't been told what it involves, but what I have gleaned from emails: it is going to be something that can be done in a week's time (20% of grade), C) I am a good test taker, so this class seems simple to me, YMMV if you do not test well. This is memorization and regurgitation at the core.

I will update after the semester, but I wanted to give people something since registration for Summer is coming up soon.

I'm taking Acct 701 with Dr. McGee. It's straight forward and very easy. Just an FYI, stay clear of MADM 701 with Phillips. There is a LOT of work, 1 500 word discussion, 1 1000 word assignment, 2 DB replies, and 2 dense chapters of reading, oh and the weekly test are proctored through protorio. These are my first two courses, luckily Acct 701 is easy. I'm new to this discussion, not sure if this has been mentioned...just wanted to pass along the info.

I'm taking Econ next and it seems like Shaugnessy is the known entity. I don't have a background and I hear its a tough class. Is there another recommendation for a professor who is easier?

Take Shaugnessy ECON 705, he is one of the best. He provides excellent learning materials, there are past videos and zoom sessions through which you can clear your doubts.

I am new here. I am hoping to start the LSUS online MBA program in May. My bachelor's degree is in nursing and not business so I could use some advice on what to study or any good resources to read or watch before starting with the core courses in the program. I appreciate any information you all can provide. Thank you!

Do you have an accounting background? Do you think someone, like myself, without any accounting experience can do well in the class or would you recommend taking the foundation class first? Thank you.

The Acct, Fin, and Econ classes start from a principles level. you would nearly be learning the same stuff in a lower level class. At least thats my experience coming from a Bachelors in Business from Auburn. I would watch some youtube videos and do some internet reading on the principles of these 3 areas in particular. This should give you a starting point. Id say that they're the classes a non-biz person would have the biggest learning curve with. I posted something about econ on the previous page. Every other class you should get A's in if you apply yourself. And judging how resourceful you were in finding this forum, you will be fine.
