I am trying to map out which Elective courses I want to take and in which order to put this entire thing together when I start in May. Does anyone have any experience with ISDS 720 which looks like a Six Sigma class or ISDS 730: Lean?
I have spent the past few hours reading the back to February and have found everyone's input to be very helpful.

The Acct, Fin, and Econ classes start from a principles level. you would nearly be learning the same stuff in a lower level class. At least thats my experience coming from a Bachelors in Business from Auburn
For someone who dreads numbers, do you recommend taking one course before the others? I'll write 20 pg papers all day but absolutely dread math. Will taking one of these classes before the other be beneficial or are they all separate animals?

@ ErinFromMaryland There are sample schedules on the LSUS website if you search for the specific specialization/concentration you’re going into. I’ll be taking ISDS 715 and ISDS 720 this summer and would also like some information on these. I have not dealt with Six Sigma before.

My track was Econ Shaugnessey, then Acct with Ambrosia, and now taking Fin with Choi.
The order doesnt matter that much. Just try to get those professors.
Acct and Fin have some overlap and they are about the same levels of difficulty. I am far from a math guy but I was able to work through it all with an A in econ and a B in Acct. Looks like Fin will be an A unless I get real complacent.
It may help to take the Gibbs ISDS class first to help with the excel in Econ. I was clueless with excel and still made the A in Econ.
With Econ, it may help to get on his message board (in moodle when class is active) and try to form a study group. someone else did this and I joined. helped a lot.

Any reviews on MKT 701 professors?
I see 3 offerings between Summer AP1 and AP2.
Imran Khan - recent posts from fellow students show mixed reviews
Darrat Mohamad? Any reviews?
James, Karen? Any reviews?
This will be one of my last course in the program, I am looking for a low workload class as I also have my 40 hrs / week job and other responsibilities.

ISDS 702 with Koksal is best taken before Econ at the very least, and for certain FIN professors that use Excel.
Choi's class is limited to a financial calculator for some archaic reason, but might be easier as a result. Huang's ACCT doesn't dwell heavily on numbers, but more on concepts. I am currently taking both of these, and even though we aren't in too deep yet, I'm going to highly recommend both. Choi and Huang do an exceptional job in preparing you for the tests. As in, straightforward concepts and questions with no attempt to trick you as some other professors are known to do. Choi's class actually has a lot of writing. Both classes have minimal math.
Econ is more math heavy though. I advise Koksal's ISDS 702 followed by Shaughnessy's Econ 705. Koksal's class is straightforward and will help prepare you for Shaughnessy's class.

Anyone see any BGS and SIE invitations yet? I read that we should receive them in our last term, but I haven't seen one yet. I'm on track to finish with a 4.0 short and one of the reasons I've been pushing myself harder than I really needed to is to get into these two associations. (Please note that this doesn't mean that I think the organizations are meaningful in any way and that everyone should try and get in. I want them for a personal reason that may possibly impact my situation but would generally impact far less than even .01% of graduates).

Taking him now. So far, kind of minimal work load. First test is encompassing four chapters though which is a bit ridiculous but other than that it’s very manageable. Definitely a teach it to yourself course IMO.

If you like this Darrat, you will like the other one (M. Darrat). There are 3 brothers total, all Marketing professors, and the Aadel and Mohammed use identical formats, rubrics, etc.
Mohammed made an ill-fated attempt to change the entire format and subject of ISDS 710. It was actually pretty interesting, although the challenge level went through the roof in comparison. The problem is that it is also a shared course for both Marketing and Data Analytics concentrations, and the new format was DA focused with almost no connection to Marketing. It was changed back mid-term and really a whole big cluster. I'm sure the Marketing people complained because of the new format, but the DA people were seriously unhappy with the reverted format (ISDS 710 is really a marketing class, with only a minimal connection to Analytics).
Anyway, the whole thing was just one more adventure in the LSUS MBA program! Sadly, M. Darrat was pretty engaged with the DA part of the class and it was also pretty stimulating. Sadly, the reversion became just another trudge through an incredibly boring self-taught class and he just kinda checked out (I don't blame him, the subject matter sucked).
I was actually a Marketing Director at the time I took the class, and it was B-O-R-I-N-G and I found little value to the reverted (and current) form of the course. The DA bit that he was attempting was more interesting.

It must’ve been too early when I did my last post...I’m actually taking Aadel Darrat. Sorry for any confusion.

I am enjoying Khan personally. This is my first semester so i dont know how he compares to other professors' workloads but it's been fairly laid back. Two chapter and a proctored exam one week, then 2 chapters a proctored exam, and a minimum 5 pg paper the next. That format seems to just rotate.

tigerlsus, how are you able to see summer session classes?
I certainly cannot.

Greetings to all on this board & this thread. I have read this thread from the start and have gleaned from an abundance of wise and very informative posts. I have since then decided to jump in and now I am somewhere in the application process for the LSUS MBA program. I have learned a lot from everyone here, past members and current posters. I am in Virginia/Tri states area of Washington DC, have a family with two kids and holding down a demanding full time job. After doing some research I have determined that this program would give me the most advantage of all without spending the ridiculous amount other institutions are charging for an MBA whilst some of those institutions does not even carry the AACSB accreditation. I am hoping to be able to start during the summer but is contingent on how fast they process my application. I haven't been to school in a while and shall we say not super tech savvy with online classes that much, never used Moodle I think it is what you guys & gals use instead of Blackboard. I hope you folks won't mind me asking some question here and there during my journey with you all through this program.
So before I start asking about the nitty gritty of the classes/courses/professors and all, I just wanted to pay my respects to all that have come before me and to all that have contributed to this thread. It's a pleasure to be here and please bear with me if I ask some redundant questions that you must have heard before. Kudos

I have three classes left before completion. I have yet to double up a class and kicking myself for not doubling up a few since I started. What are your opinions on doubling up any of these following classes?
FIN701
MKT701
MADM760
Any suggestions on professors as well?

MADM 760 with Meeks is writing intense but straightforward and there’s a group project. Write, write and when you think you’ve written enough...write some more. The greater word count = higher grade
FIN 701 with Choi has been good so far. Do the practice problems and you’ll do fine on the exams.
Math and writing classes might be a good combo.

Can someone please give me some input on ACCT 701 Fabio or Yin for summer AP1, who should I take? I heard a lot of posts that are pretty happy with Fabio but very little on Yin. Any suggestions, what's the work load like? Is it reading, math, writing, tests? I'm more fond of math than writing if that helps. If anybody has book links, syllabus or anything that can help me get ahead of the class would be appreciated. I'm also planning on taking ISDS 702 with Koskal for AP2 since some people said that 702 would be a good pre-req for FIN & ECON. xdfan@live.com Thanks.
