Looking for advice on who to take for MADM760 and ACCT701.

Looking at Ambrosio or Li Huang for ACCT701

Is Meeks the best way to go for MADM760? I would prefer to avoid group projects if at all possible.

True statement Menace!

I have found that it takes me a little adjusting to the different workload requirements for each course, but so far the only one that was heavier than I would have liked was MADM 701 with Williams. It was also the first course I took in the program, and was not used to being a student again.

Others want to complain about how the perceived value of the degree, while others are complaining it is too hard, or not really ready or capable to do the work.

I can say for a fact, that ISDS 705 with Gibbs is the easiest class in the program.

ISDS 705 with Gibbs is the easiest class I have taken.

Watch some videos and follow along in Excel, and then take some quizzes that are not proctored, and poof easy A.

Has anyone taking ECON 705 with Fadi Fawaz?

Not sure if he was teaching the class in AP1 or if AP2 will be his first class.

Any input would be helpful.

PresJohnTyler,

They are pretty straight forward i.e.
E(R)=Rf+beta(MRP)is typical, but there are a lot of them in each chapter, and you will not know which ones are needed for each weekly test.

I think the most I had on a sheet was 24 for one of the weeks. Nothing hard, all straight pretty straight forward, and you will just need to plug those in correctly from the question as all the needed info is there. You may need one equation to figure out what the MRP is to plug into another equation, but the info is all there.

The theory question are based on you applying the gist of the material to a multiple choice. Those seemed to be what tripped up a lot of people, but don't over think the questions.

I know a few people have been asking about classes, teachers etc, and I am only 3 classes in, so take this for what it is worth.

ISDS 705 - James Gibbs - Watch some videos, follow along in excel and take a weekly test that was not proctored in any way. Easiest class I have had yet, and from what I have read, easiest course in the program, I should have doubled up.

MADM 701 - Felicia Williams - Was the first class I took, after being out of school for 15 years, and it required a lot of reading, a weekly paper, weekly forum post and a reply. The closed book tests were done through Proctorio. For the first class in the program, I was not really prepared to put in the amount of hours required, so I got off to a bit of a slow start. Be sure to read AND FOLLOW the grading rubrics for both the forum discussion and the weekly papers.

Fin 701 - Lynn Kendall - I think this may have been her first time teaching this course here. The weekly lecture material was presented in a PDF that had boxes with info in it, and the same info was repeated below with some additional info. She allows a half page formula sheet for the weekly quizzes which are broken up between theory questions and equations to be solved. There is also a weekly discussion post required as well as responding to a classmates post. Many of the practice questions for each week had errors, so that made things a little more difficult when you can not arrive at the same answer as is shown for the problem solution. The final is comprehensive.

Now on to Econ 705 with Fadi Fawaz which there does not seem to be a lot of info on either.

Completely agree rredway!

For me it is more a check in the box / tie breaker, as the company I work for is very enamored with masters degrees, and literally they do not care if you can run a lemonade stand if you have a MBA. On the other hand, a guy with 24 years in the industry was told he would not be consider as a first line manager without an undergraduate degree.

Ok So I took Felice Williams MADM701 as my first course in the program, and found the reading a bit of a pain to get through with my schedule, but by no means undoable. I have Gibbs ISDS705 this term, and it is WAY easier requiring a lot less time, and more user friendly to complete the weekly assignments.

Looking for recommendations for the next term, would prefer to get what others found to be their harder classes out of the way.
