I saw the message that we can use FIN 740 as an alternative to one of the Data Analytics requirements, but I don't see it on the course rotation. Anyone have any insight as to which terms they might be offering this class (other than Spring AP2)?

Unless I make changes to AP2, I'll only have MKT 701 and ISDS 710 remaining after Spring. Looking to replace ISDS 710 but I don't want to take 740 until I've done FIN 701 this AP2.

From the description, 740 sounds like it might be a more difficult class but much more applicable than ISDS 710 from a DA perspective.

Are you doing both of these classes at the same time?

While it should be doable, I expect two MADM classes at the same time will be a lot of writing.

MADM 710 syllabus and outline uploaded to Moodle. Looks pretty straightforward.

I am. Looks pretty reasonable at first glance. I didn't have a lot of time to get into it yet though. I'm pairing it with MADM 701, so I'm hoping that it balances out all the writing.

For Econ 705 with Shaughnessy - does anyone recall if he publishes the answers to the assignment prior to taking the end of week assessment? In other words, how do we know that we worked the assignment problems correctly? Also - do you all recall how many questions were on each assessment and the amount of qualitative vs. quantitative questions were on it? Thanks in advance.

Hannat - Looks straight-forward so far (one day in, LOL), but I do like the layout of the course according to the syllabus and module info.

He does not post the answers to the assignment questions. And be careful about asking about the questions in the classroom forum because a few students asked and he responded telling them they can’t ask questions directly related to the assignment. I suggest you watch the additional videos in each module as you complete the assignments, the videos demonstrate how to solve the questions (different numbers but VERY similar problems).
If you’re asking specifically about the end of module assignments, then there are typically 7-12 problems. Mostly quantitative, a few qualitative depending on the week. Majority are multiple choice with the rare free text data entry.

Thanks a bunch @BTX . Great info! I feel 100% on the info in his lecture/powerpoint info as I took 3 Econ classes in undergrad - but the assignment sort of threw me a curve based on what he covered. Do you know if he posts videos of his zoom sessions or do you have to attend?? Did you end up doing well in the class? Thanks a ton for the reply.

He does post recorded versions of the zoom sessions. However, I didn’t watch them. I focused more on watching the additional videos already available. Get comfortable with excel to develop spreadsheets to work through the problems. If not, then you can use long methods to solve them. I did well in the class...A!

This is also exactly how the Grinch's heart became two sizes too small! Use it, or it will shrink!

I do feel you though. For the first week after break started, I was constantly freaking out feeling like I needed to be studying... now... it's hard to get back into the groove. Just gotta batten down the hatches and keep your eyes on the prize (the MBA).
