I'm about to start the same program in an upcoming term. Which core classes should not be taken together?

I'd recommend not taking the following classes together:

MADM 701, MADM 760, ECON 705, and pretty much any MKT class.

That's not to say they can't be taken together, but these are all pretty time consuming.

@flager.

I’m only doing the PowerPoint. I’m going to gamble and skip the readings. It’s too much.

I'm pretty sure you can't. In fact, most people can't really see why you would want to do two in the first place unless your first was from a different country.

However, I do know that you CAN email the school during your last semester to let them know you would like to go for a second specialization or concentration and they will hold back your degree check so you can finish the extra classes. However, aside from personal enrichment, I can't see why you would want to do that either.

Your spec/conc are NOT printed on the diploma anyway and your focus isn't always important either. I have two good friends who got their MBAs in economics. One is in finance and the other is in operations. Neither does economics. By the way, IF you do want to go this route you can ask the school for a certificate of completion letter that reflects up to two specializations or concentrations. It's not the official document from the registrar however.

I'm going for a dual specialization Marketing and Data Analytics and requested these details when I started the program. In my case, MKT 710 can be used towards both specs, so I've taken one additional Marketing and one additional Data Analytics elective to complete both specializations without taking "extra" courses.

I am taking ISDS 702 too. It's not too easy like other people said on the forum.

Hi, I'm planning to take this combination for AP2 :

ISDS 705 - Management Information System with Mary Lind
MADM 760 - Organizational strategy and Principle with Erin Mclaughlin.

Any comments, please share.

I would say Gibbs for ISDS 705, if he don't teach in AP2 just wait for summer. Gibbs is really easy.

Agree - How about this combination.?

ECON 705 - Economic Analysis for Management with Fassil Fanta.
MADM 760 - Organizational strategy and Principle with Erin Mclaughlin.

Please offer a suggestion on ECON 705 subject. ? Is it too tough such as MKT 701. ?

Thanks.

Glad I'm not the only one that feels that way. Didn't think the class would be this hard!

Isds 792 koksal this guy doesn’t do a very good job of explains this material.
It’s like he knows what he is talking about but can’t convey it properly.

Are you guys talking about week 1 or 2? I haven't started with week 2 yet, so these posts are worrying me!

Your description of him is also worrying. An expert is someone who knows what they're talking about. A teacher actually needs to be able to convey it to others.

Does anyone know which professors don’t require proctors? I work nights , the proctor freaked out at the slightest noise of my kids running through my house or even when I was testing and fedex rang the door bell to drop off a package. Anyone have these bad experiences often?

If you take 3 more accounting classes, you will still have one MBA degree with two concentrations. Why would you do that?

I wouldn't, I was responding to Mizzou Hoss who posted the original question. I already indicated that the only major purpose it would serve is personal enrichment. I'm not saying that personal enrichment is a bad thing. If the field that the Mizzou is looking to get into would benefit from skills in both areas, then it might give them a small competitive advantage.

As for me, I'm taking exactly 10 classes to get two specializations. since one of my electives is a "shared" elective across two specializations and I happen to have interest in both. That said... I wouldn't take two extra classes to turn these specializations into concentrations.

ECON requires more critical thought and understanding of formulas and variants. MKT isn’t hard per say, just a ridiculous amount of material for accelerated session, so the more time consuming of the two.

ECON 705/MADM 760 pairing should work though I had neither of those instructors. I paired ECON w/ FIN and ended up with A in FIN and B (89) in ECON.
