Loving the spirited debate
@businessknight I can see your concerns. In my courses I haven’t had the same experiences. Are there some students that post piss poor discussion post? Yes. But it was far from the majority. Most are well written, thought out, relevant post that prompt engaging follow up discussion. And I can see why you would say comical about my comparison. But I also said loosely for that reason lol.
Them losing funding concern wasn’t just an LSUS issue. The main campus faced major cuts as well. Just ensuring people understand full context. Educational systems are faced with looming federal and state funding cuts more often than they should. I don’t think the 2016 situation reflects at all on the quality of the program at the time.
And agreed that outside of LA radius, people really don’t care that it’s a satellite school. Working in HR, I see resumes with schools listed that I have never heard of. Shout out to football teams for having a lot of schools being “recognized”.

I’m not sure why everyone is so concerned...in the end we’re in the program so let’s make of it what we can!

Module 5 for McLaughlin's MADM 760 is open. She opened it early so people can get a head start due to Thanksgiving next week. That's pretty nice.
The MORE amazing thing however, is that the discussion post is working from Day -2. When there's only 2 days to post, they can't get it to work until like 12 hours before it's due but when there's more than 4 days? No problem!

Getitdone,
Since I never took Gibbs, I unfortunately can't say how much work it will be. I think you will need to weigh your schedule, current skills, and opportunity costs. If your schedule is simply too tight, then perhaps Lin is the best choice in order to give you the time to focus on 751. It seems Meeks wants a substantial amount of writing, so pairing up with something light would make a lot of sense.
If your schedule is more open, then by all means take Gibbs. I haven't actually see the course work for Gibbs, so I couldn't say whether his class is actually good or not from a personal perspective. I think a high degree of computer proficiency and technical savvy can also reduce any net benefit of ISDS 705 whereas a low degree would increase your net benefit. A technophobe could learn a lot even from Lin's class, while an IT professional might not learn anything from Gibbs' class.

I paired Gibbs 705 and Econ and didn’t have a problem. I found Gibbs’ workload to be manageable—I put in 1-2 hrs a week, all on Monday, and spent the rest of the time on Econ. I enjoyed the class because he really worked it from an angle of project management and not just straight IT systems. The workload was—two sets of questions to answer per week from the book, a short quiz, and a piece of the project you work on the whole way through. Some weeks he had a video to watch, but the one he had us watch was on start ups and it was actually pretty interesting. Dr. Gibbs is funny and engaging, he responds quickly to questions and was more interactive than a lot of the other professors I’ve had. I enjoyed the class a lot.

Can’t speak on Meeks for 751, but Gibbs for ISDS 705 is straightforward and manageable to pair with another course. Per week...two chapter open-book timed quizzes, one tutorial that is completing an excel spreadsheet (detailed instructions provided in pdf format), & one project that is completing an excel spreadsheet (instructions provided via video). All of which is accomplishable with another course. Cntrl F will be your best friend for the quizzes

Anyone else in McLaughlin's 760 that got greeted with a closed quiz this morning? That's right, the quiz was set to close at 11am instead of 11pm. I was all set to take the exam and then bam.

At the expense of M4's quiz closing 12hrs early. Getting very frustrated with the Moodle issues with this class. Not sure if its IT related or cockpit error, leaning toward the latter.
EDIT: LOL, I can take M5's quiz, its open already!

Folks.
Any thoughts on what to pair Econ 705 shaughnessy. With my schedule I can I need one less involved and one moderately involved.

I didnt notice it closing early. DId it get fixed?
Also, did you take M5? There seemed to be an issue with two of the questions being exactly the same. I wonder if she noticed that.

Meeks' courses are pairable. It's a straight forward course, but it is a MADM, so there's a fair amount of writing involved.
Some people this term don't seem to care for Dr Meeks, but I really liked MADM751. It's one of the better courses I took in the program content wise.

Admittedly, Meeks has been growing on me over the past couple of weeks. The content in his version of MADM 760 is very good.
The main issue with Meeks is very similar to my main issue with MKT 701 with James. They are two of the better instructors at LSUS. The issue to be overcome with both courses is simply the sheer volume of work required. It's not difficult work, but it is time consuming, tedious, and there is a barrage of it. I would recommend being very selective with which course to pair with Meeks' MADM 760.
Meeks' teaching style takes some adjustment. His bark is worse than his bite, and he actually seems to grade quite leniently. Navigating the complexity of group work with random team members across time zones poses a unique challenge. Once you get into a rhythm though it's not too awful. I'm glad we only have one group video left!

I’m glad to hear you found Meek’s class to be more interesting than burdensome as you initially reported. There will be times when we must work with others based in different time zones, so I think the course is a great exercise in that regard.

Ok So I took Felice Williams MADM701 as my first course in the program, and found the reading a bit of a pain to get through with my schedule, but by no means undoable. I have Gibbs ISDS705 this term, and it is WAY easier requiring a lot less time, and more user friendly to complete the weekly assignments.
Looking for recommendations for the next term, would prefer to get what others found to be their harder classes out of the way.

It got fixed and she gave an extension until Wed due to the issue. I haven't taken M5's exam yet but have noticed previous tests having very similar questions, just worded differently, haven't had identical questions yet.

In order of what is roughly considered most difficult to least difficult for your remaining core classes (recommended instructors in parenthesis):
MKT 701 (James)
MADM 760 (Meeks/McLaughlin)
ECON 750 (Shaughnessy)
FIN 701 (Vines)
ACCT 701 (Ambrosio)

Much appreciated, I will look at those for the spring semester.

Im not sure how I feel about the team canvas. We haven't really looked into it yet, but it looks to be more involved
