USSSA Baseball is a Joke

EDIT on March 18 2021. This post was from 2014. It was an epic bump by someone else.
I don't remember anything other than what is posted here. My sons are in college and no longer playing ball.
USSSA prolly still sucks.
We were at the Tournament in Hammond and it was called due to rain today so they awarded the tropheys by seeds.
The team who won one of the 9 years old bracket was 0-0 and declared the winners. Last night they did not get a chance to play their pool games because of rain, so they were ranked #1 because 0 runs scored against them. Of course they had 0 runs against them they didn't play.
Today, the tourney was called before they could play their first game, so since they were the #1 seed when the tourney was called they were awarded 1st place.
Makes sense right? Way to earn those trophies. If I were the coach I would have declined but of course they didnt.

How else should they have given out the trophies? Obviously they shouldn't have given out but if they were going to do it I think doing it based off of seeding makes as much sense as any other way?

You can tell its not peak season when threads get started with....

They are 9 year olds playing a game, to me the only pathetic thing is the fact that adults get so emotional because their little sweetheart didn't get a trophy.
Really, it's 9 year olds. Let them have fun. They win, great, they lose, oh well. They get a trophy, awesome. They don't, who cares.
More to life than worrying about 9 year olds getting trophies.

Link?
Runs allowed is not the first tiebreaker. Did all the other teams have a loss?
Also, we play both usssa and grandslam. Grandslam is more expensive in BR and they charge a gate at cypress.

8 yr old travel teams.....
The best part is when you sit in the stands and hear these parents lecture others on how to "tell their kids, NO!"
If you are traveling this state with a 8 yr old, you are an idiot.

USSSA is far, far better than Little League.

Of course they're a joke, they have three S's. They're practically a lisp.

Its 9 year olds why does it matter who gets a trophy or wins and loses, I would be more upset about the missed game reps.

the only 9 year old bracket in Hammond that I can see is the AAA 9's and looks like to me they played all the games.

I have a hard time believing this is true.

Sounds like the best team won. They didn’t allow any runs don’t be jealous.
ETA- just realized this from 14 lol

Those tournaments are not "run" by USSSA. They are sanctioned by USSSA, but not run by them. Your displeasure should be directed to the tournament directors, not USSSA (at least, in this case).
Last weekend here, Saturday pool-play games were rained out... all teams were able to play their 2 pool-play games on Sunday.
No awards were given. It was simply playing for fun. No one expected a trophy (ring), no one was awarded a trophy, and everyone went home happy. And yes, it was a USSSA sanctioned tournament.
ETA: gawd damn. what a hell of a bump. I am dumbass.
