AVOID Campus Row- (CVS, BWW, the Pita Place and the Japanese place) Northgate

Avoid Campus Row which includes CVS, Buffalo Wild Wings, Pita Pit, Kaminari Japanese Buffet, and whatever new businesses go into the many vacant spots in the shopping center. They allow Riverside to have people stand in the parking lot and watch for you to not walk exactly into their store right away and tow you. And they don't care. Absolutely horrid. Here is the email I received from the director of the complex regarding the policy. Also notice the typos in the email from a supposed professional. Sad that they choose to harm what could allow for the continued strengthening of the north side of campus.
Campus Apartments owns and manages the commercial space known as College Row and rents to various vendors. As our customers, many of them have requested more strict towing enforcement in this area because just as you did, many people park in the lot and go to other business; at times this can limit the spots for customers doing business in College Row. While there may be additional spots available at this time with the majority of students gone for the summer, it quickly becomes very crowded in this lot during the Fall and Winter terms when all students return. Enforcing the policies is completed year round as a service to the business owner's within College Row. In order to accommodate the business owners in College Row and ensure only the customers doing business at College Row are using the lot, we've allowed Riverside Towing to enforce the policies for this location. East Baton Rouge Parrish requires 4 towing signs on a property our size; we've posted 38 towing signs at various points in the parking lot advising that you may not park at College Row if you are not a customer of College Row to prevent towing. Riverside Towing has not been instructed to have someone stand and observe, although we will not discourage them from doing so. The reason they stand and watch while someone leaves is because it MUST be video taped in order to justify the vehicle being towed. Otherwise, Riverside Towing would have no way to differentiate between a car that id doing business within College Row from those who are not.
While I understand your point of view regarding the additional unused spaces yesterday, our parking rules were clearly stated, are always in effect, you were in violation, and the rules were enforced the only way legally possible. We would prefer that a towing service not be necessary but it truly is. In fact, during the football season our Maintenance Supervisor drives the lot (even though Riverside Towing is there) warning people who are parking and leaving to move their cars so they don't get towed; this is done as a courtesy to all who park in this area.
Again, I appreciate your feedback and you are always welcome to use College Row parking while doing business within the plaza. Otherwise, please park at the respective business or there is a paid lot we mange right beside Koi Sushi.
Best Regards,

Sorry, bud...but I agree with them. It's their policy. If you don't want your car towed, abide by their rules. Seems simple enough...

Thank you, this is the exact reason I don't go to that side of campus really.

It sucks how areas of Baton Rouge present such limited options for on street parking.
That should be readily available all up and down Highland Road, State Street, and Chimes Street in that area.

How the hell did you miss 38 towing enforcement signs?

So you willingly parked in an area that says (with 38 signs no less) that you will be towed if you are not a paying customer of a business, and you're complaining about being towed when you weren't patronizing one of the businesses?
Look, I hate riverside too, but yur dumb.

I thought your complaint would have more ground to stand on than this..

Massacres in Syria are "horrid." This is a petty gripe you have because you're not allowed to skirt the clearly stated rules with impunity.

Nice ad hominem.

I'm not a TD lifer, is this kind of post allowed?

Take a stand & don't grace them with your business but understand, they warned you 38 times not to park there if you weren't going be a paying customer at one of the establishments governed by their tow/parking policy.

I'm not a fan of riverside, and I'm first to admit that they definitely do some shady stuff.
But I don't think this is anyone's fault other than your own. You were in the wrong. You shouldn't have parked there.
Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

You ignored 38 signs and are complaining?

riverside sucks arse, but you did park there after being told 38 times not to

I'm sorry you can't park wherever you want to. However, it's posted every 10 feet and its widely known that they tow there with no mercy.
What you really should do is express your displeasure with the Northgate Business Association. They need to hear more about the lack of parking in the area. Here's a better idea also. Put a few quarters in the pay lot and walk to Subway. Only costs you .50 instead of a couple hundred or whatever.

Buy your Motrin at Walmart. It's much cheaper.

It's not like anyone takes it seriously.

All those stores suck do I have no need to park there

The only issue I have is apparently in the beginning they were towing people who would patronize one of the businesses in the area, then leave the grounds. IMO that's shady.
