Of course there have always been "small" teams that have succeeded.
This doesn't take away the fact that way more schools (big or small) are investing in baseball and making it more of a priority than ever before.

Should have been four if PM hadnt choked.

If Virginia and ULL lose tonight, only 1 national seed (TCU) would make it to Omaha.
TCU still has to win to advance. Currently tied in the 8th.

so have the 35 man roster limits, something that skip never had to deal with. those strict, 35 total and 27 scholarship players, limits didn't go into effect until 2009. that rule alone forced the talent to be dispersed

Down to 3 outs to extend their season

Yeah, i am by no means a CPM apologist because I am still in awe at how he handled our pitching staff that sunday game, but I also don't understand why so many ofour fans chalk this up to "positiger" rhetoric.
pat henry no longer dominates track
the pac 12 no longer dominates softball
college basketball is as unpredictable as ever
It's not really outrageous to point out how even the playing field is these days. Also it'd be nice if we could actually catch a break from the MLB draft like schools such as Vandy, UF, and TCU have (please Mac Marshall )

still the year was set up for LSU to win it all and his managing late in the game to eliminate Houston cost LSU the game they were cruising up 4-0.. beyond highly questionable.. but I like Paul Mainieri and want him at LSU.

This is not a place for reason and defending a good coach. Even if you bring great numbers and stats, it doesn't matter.
There will always be trolls looking to take the other end of an argument. Always!

No, it really wasn't
The team had holes, but they played hard and had a hell of a fun run to get a national seed

I agree completely people are either blind or know nothing at all about baseball if they don't realize how much parody there is. Honestly I may give people to much credit but I think they do realize just love to complain anytime lsu doesn't win a national championship in any sport. It's always the coach's fault no matter what happens. And I'm not dumb enough to say a coach never makes a mistake but all coaches do

The pac 12 has won 6 of the last 9 in softball.
The men's bball champion pretty much always comes from the same group of traditional powers.
Pat Henry still dominates track.
Yours is one of the posts that anyone who reads it is in fact actually dumber after reading it. You are stupid and should stop posting.

Besides Texas, none of the other teams heading to Omaha have been there more than 3 times ever.

I like how you see a stat on espn and just go with it on here. Right or wrong

PM made a bad, stupid move. Plain and simple. He deserves the criticism. I would have been totally fine had we taken care of business against UH up 4-0 and then lost to Texas straight up in the S.R. because this team wasn't that great. We had Nola, then a shaky amount of pitching after that. We didn't have the hitters we had last year either.
It's the fact we had a 4-0 lead on Houston going into the 7th inning and PM chose to sit the starter throwing a 62 pitch, 2 hit shutout for one of the most notorious relievers for melting down and losing leads in recent memory with a FULL BULLPEN AVAILABLE.
Not only this, but after he clearly doesn't have it in the 7th inning and gets out of that with pure luck, he allows him to come out the next fricking inning and proceeds to watch him shite the bed batter, after batter, after batter.
Please see my thoughts in brackets during the 8th inning:
- Single on the second pitch [Hmm, okay, take him out]
- Error, runner to 2nd and batter takes 1st due to his own mistake [No really, TAKE HIM OUT]
- Single on the first pitch, bases juiced, nobody out [What in the frick, tying run now at the plate with no outs, oh visit to the mound, he'll come out now, WTF LEAVING HIM IN?]
- 2 RBI Single on the first pitch, runners on 1st/2nd, zero out, now a 4-2 game [OH NOW YOU frickING TAKE HIM OUT]
Yeah. Horrible, horrible coaching. I like Mainieri, but he deserves every bit of criticism for that crap.

Isn't that what everyone does on message boards? Post information they found somewhere?
