Angry Graduate Just Wrote This Letter To His University.

Thank you for not only a current, cutting edge post, but it's also very interesting!

As much as I agree that higher education is too expensive and not substantive enough, I can't be mad at schools for the plight of most students.

Guy probably got a shitty MA from a mediocre school. That's not the school's fault. When schools truly hide information from students, I'm on board for the bashing. But the huge majority of people like this are upset that their History degree isn't bringing in the big bucks, and that's definitely not the fault of the school.

I would not hire him either with that attitude

It's not the university's fault that he hasn't been hired yet...

If he's unemployed he picked a shitty major, something liberal arts.

Not everyone should go to college. Way too much emphasis is put on it nowadays.

Mildly amusing. Pretty close to true for a lot of young people though.

I am also pissed about the rise in tuition cost. When I started LSU, full-time tuition was around $1500. Just paid my tuition for 6hrs worth of summer classes at UNO, and it was $1900.

I have been looking at colleges for my younger sister lately also. I would say that the average cost of the 50 private colleges she is looking at is around $55k and public average around $47k. I have no idea how a school spends between $200 million and $1 billion a year without doing a single improvement other than buying a few computers.

Since my parents make more than $110k, it also cuts the financial aid packages in half, so they are looking at probably $35-50k per year in tuition after the aid. Ridiculous, and after typing this, I still have no idea where that amount of money goes
