I think Peche will be okay. It's by the same owner of Cochon, which has been really successful and stayed true to their roots.

I definitely agree that Houston has good restaurants too, though. I enjoyed Hay Merchant on my last trip down there (great beer list), looking forward to trying out Underbelly on my next trip out there.

You are so butthurt about Texas. It's coming off as a little brother being mad about big brother getting all the toys. I love Louisiana but give it a rest.

Living in Uptown Dallas right now. Nothing but great restaurants, great bars and SMU 10's walking by pretty much 24/7. It's pretty shitty.

Hey Gaston,

My bachelor party is in Biloxi. What is there to do there?

I went to one there one time as well. Was disappointed to find out that there are no strip clubs in Biloxi.

IDK, I'd probably get Shore Thing charters to take you fishing, go play a round at the Grand Bear or Preserve...hang by the Hard Rock pool (never done it) come to BSL for the day and TBT with Trapanis for dinner...Ocean Springs is right there but I've never been. Chef Scott for noodles or sushi I hear.

Get fricked up and laugh at rednecks?

It's a running joke on this site, and there hasn't been a thread in a while. IDGAF about Texas really.

I find no difference in redneckdom found in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama. All seem to display the same characteristics found elsewhere, and I think it's kind of cute how people think that things change because you cross over an imaginary line on a map. It's the same culture, same language, people. They eat at the same restaurants, have the same interests, talk the same, and think the same. No difference.

I do find a lot of people from Dallas to be pompous assholes.

The Dallas snobbery is probably due to the massive influx of Midwesterners from Missouri and Oklahoma.

The problem with TX and pretty much the rest of the southern states is the fact that the women generally support the men financially and have more education than their male counterparts.

Also, the elites and politicians in the south intentionally keep the population stupid and reactionary for gain. All the jingoism concentrated in Dixie has made it third world and backwards in comparison to the healthier west coast and north. The south is going to remain fricked for generations until the place is colonized with snowbirds and dragged into modern times.

The Texas vs. Louisiana fights on here are always fascinating.

Having seen both LA and Texas, I'd choose raising a family in Texas every time. Way more opportunity.
