You look like Sam Snead in those fedoras.

I don't think I could pull it off. Not with pink socks anyway.

but I also think it's quite stupid to try and convince someone that it is exactly like a heterosexual relationship, when it most certainly isn't.
You're right, because heterosexual couples don't have to worry about hate for being who they are.

Hmm. Not quite so sure that this is always the case. I'm sure some interracial couples, for instance, may experience social hate for their relationship. But that being said, I do not otherwise disagree with your statement, so it's kind of a non sequitur for me.

At 5 years old, they shouldn't even have to be exposed to those types of things.

What sort of things? That gay people exist? Jesus man quit sheltering your child. It will do more harm than good in the future.

I do find it upsetting that there's so much outrage about the gay kiss, and not nearly enough outrage about the interracial kiss. This used to really upset us as a nation, how far have we fallen?

the NFL draft. When Michael Sam got drafted and they showed him kissing his S/O, my kids asked me "daddy, why is that man on tv kissing another man in the mouth?"

I didn't know how to respond that to that question to where a 5 year old would be able to understand. So, I acted like I didn't hear it and sent his arse off to get me a drink from the frig.

I sat down with my wife to discuss what happened and she said she didn't know how to discuss it either. We both agreed that we don't want to discriminate against gays, but at the same time we feel that he's too young to see those type of things on TV.

I guess I was caught off guard by what they showed on TV and the immediate question asked by my son.

How would you handle this situation?

Easy solution. I tell them it's a choice and a sin. We are not to judge them because we all have our own sins we're guilty of. (insert example here) However, it is an immoral lifestyle.

Pretty easy solution to teach my kids IMO.

You can shelter your kids from homos. That's not un-American.

You prolly eat a lot of hummus.

I'd be a little more concerned that my five year old was paying that close attention to the seventh round of the NFL draft.

I find it extremely troubling that you are exposing an impressionable 5 year old to the NFL draft. No telling what kind of lasting mental damage that will leave.
